That wasn't a penalty. I would've preferred to see 'pool go through but Chelsea deserved it I think. they still won't win anyway. They're gonna have an empty cabinet at the end of the season.

Chelsea don't deserve squat. Liverpool are the only decent team they have had to play in the CL in 2 seasons. Arsenal, Liverpool and Utd have had to play world class teams.

I so hope UTD win the final and no i'm not a Utd or Liverpool fan.

See, now I don't know who I want to win the final. As a Liverpool supporter, it's been engrained onto my brain to hate Manchester United, but I also hate Chelsea and REALLY don't want to see them buy the Champions League.

Think i'd rather see it go to United...and it REALLY pains me to say that.

    Chelskis opener was offside.

Liverpool shoulda kept it tighter in extra time but they really they need better players: Riise, Benayoun and Kuyt aren't quite up to the level, maybe they're adequate squad players, but for a game like last night? nope.

Hope Man U take the cup now!

I read somewhere that this Newcastle United supporter wants this outcome for the final:

"I hope 22 players suffer anterior cruciate ligament injuries" :D:D

As a Liverpool supporter, I couldnt agree more hehe

  • I'm by no means a Man Utd supporter, or a Chelsea or Liverpool or Barcelona supporter - I'm not a huge soccer fan in the first place. So coming from a fairly objective place, for Man Utd to take two Premiership trophies and the Champions League from Chelsea, after all the spending Chelsea has done, would be sweet. Like them or not, they've been a consistent side for, what, 16 years now?

Yeah, Chelsea were lucky when Abramovich arrived and for a couple of seasons he splashed out massive amounts of cash. He stabilised a club in big financial trouble, we won the lottery and for that I will be forever grateful. But the "Chelsea have bought success" rant doesn't wash with me anymore.
There is so much money in the Premiership that any club can buy big, if they want to? So if Man Utd do the double this season, will they have not "bought" their trophies? Ronaldo, Ferdinand. Vidic, Hargreaves, Rooney etc. All home grown players? Free transfers? Swapped down the local park for some bubblegum and a bag of conkers? No, I think a little bit of wonga may have changed hands somewhere down the line and good luck to them. If DIC ever get their hands on Liverpool, just check out the amount of money that comes rolling in from Dubai.
Good old Real Madrid, the most successful club in European history, haven't they been propped up by a blank cheque from the Spanish govt. since the 1950's? Isn't that buying success? They run up 100 million of debt, the govt. wipes the slate clean.
You watch how much money Tottenham spend this summer, already shelled out 20 million on a Croatian forward, they will probably spend 100 million plus. Rumours are that Roy Keane will be given 100 million to spend at Sunderland? Crazy money, crazy times?
I know that there isn't much love for Chelsea on this board, or anywhere else for that matter. But as a fanatical supporter for over 40 years, I couldn't give a flying monkeys left testicle! This is my time and I'm gonna enjoy every minute. Bring on the haters!

You're right, think Mourinho and the success he brought which no money can guarentee(just look at Madrid over the last few years) has a lot to do with the dislike. Man Utd have been big-spenders long before Chelsea became a force, Keane was a british transfer record back in the early 90's and relative to the game then it was big bucks.
Me, I just don't like Chelsea, felt the same pre-Hoddle. And the present daytside to have a bullying element to their game with Terry et al. Oh and the blue kit.

To say Man Utd have bought trophies in the same way as Chelsea is wrong.
The money Man Utd have spent on players is money generated by the club through merchandising, marketing & success on the pitch.
They set themselves a budget and only spend what they as a 'business' can afford.

The money Chelsea have been spending over the past few seasons, reportedly over half a billion pounds, has come from Abramovic's pocket!
It's hardly the same. The club isn't self sufficient in the way Man Utd, Arsenal, Liverpool etc are.
