Easily one of the best shows around, but one question I have never seen answered or asked,

why is a camera crew following office members around? Was that ever explained?

  • In the original UK version Christmas Special, they talk about the show as a BBC documentary. I'm 99% sure they never explained the cameras on the US version, but I would assume its the same premise.

i think that question is brought up at a writer's seminar that's in the bonus stuff for the season 4 dvd set. if i remember correctly, they said it's supposed to be (like the UK version) a documentary that just never ends.

  • the first season of the US show they did explain that it was for a documentary...and I think it's a bit of a joke that it is neverending.

And that the film crew grows and grows as needed...like in tonight's episode, they had crews with Pam at the laundromat, Dwight on his stroller adventure, Michael in the warehouse and of course at least one in the main office.
