I am going to see it tomorrow.
Read the book and loved that.
This movies premise really seems to be almost the "Singles" of the indie rock scene or movement.
that said it doesnt seem to be doing that well with critics or moviegoers. Although did Singles do well with critics and at the box office?
For me, indie rock is what i listen to. it has captured my eardrums in way nothing has since grunge. I know alot of people dislike it. Alot of people loath it.

I thought the same thing after the movie yesterday. I do really like him but he really needs to play a serial killer or something because this loveable, sensitive average guy thing is the same thing every time.
A friend told me it reminded them of Garden State but not as good.

George Michael Bluth??? The guy from Wham!!??? REally?
This movie doesnt reinvent the wheel. it isnt special effects laden. but it was good nonetheless.
The soundtrack was great, two devendra banhart songs, one band of horses song, one devendra cameo (3 words!), a new vampire weekend song, and one modest mouse song.
Seeing it now, this movie wont kill at the box office. it most likely will be a flop. these types of movies always are unfortunately. the sensitive, honest, emotional movies, that people neglect to see, and instead go see Hancock or other nonsense.
I related to the characters, I related to the music and the whole atmosphere of the movie. Although the movie differed from the book significantly, it honored the book pretty well.
one of the best movies I have seen in 08.
if it gets enough buzz like Juno it'll make money. Plus it probably only cost $20 mil to make and it'll make a lot of that back on DVD sales.
thats interesting i didnt think to put the two together, but now that you say that, i can see it. it makes you feel the same way that garden state did. i really enjoyed this movie but i think garden state was a good bit better.
