What should we do? It's just a quick day trip so we obviously don't have a ton of time. We'll stay longer next time she comes to visit.

What would you do if you had only one day to see a little bit of the city?

it is a difficult task to name just 1 thing.

I guess with the heatwave oncoming, and time being limited

you should definitely resort to the circle line cruise and take a lap or two down around the lady with the torch then back around.

And maybe have a walk around the Times Square area. Sure its touristy and locals kind of 'meh' it, but if you've never seen it in person, its kind of fun - just the feeling that I was standing on Broadway for the first time in real life was the greatest thing.

She's never been and you're going for one day... thats not enough!!!

I would suggest going to Times Square and then going to the Empire State Building- you gotta see the city from its highest point.

That's what I was going to suggest...I live right near NYC and I rarely go. I still get a kick out of Times Square :o

Take the double decker bus tour. It will take the whole day, but you'll see everything from Penn Station down through Battery Park & Statue of Liberty.

I've done it three times and I love it.

With my mom, I'd go to the art museum and out to lunch.
