Damn, maybe 'The Matrix' isn't that far off from reality...

"By the 2030s, Kurzweil said, humans will become more non-biological than biological, capable of uploading our minds onto the Internet, living in various virtual worlds and even avoiding aging and evading death."

"In the 2040s, Kurzweil predicts that non-biological intelligence will be billions of times better than the biological intelligence humans have today, possibly rendering our present brains obsolete"

"Our brains are a million times slower than electronics," Kurzweil said. "We will increasingly become software entities if you go out enough decades."

I think the laws of physics and the practicality of flying cars prevented that..

    Hahaha, very true.
We can't figure out another fuel other than oil and in 20 years we're going to be obsolete?

Interesting read, but I don't see it happening.

we could have other fuel but big money interests aren't going to allow it. Look at the military advances we have. Planes you can't see or hear. The technology will be there, i believe it. i mean look how far we've come since the 80's. I can only imagine what it will be like in 2040.

I don't see that happening... especially in 22 years. It seems we've been progressing slower the past century.

Progress is not made by everyone joining some new fad,
and reveling in it's loyalty. It's made by forming coalitions
over specific principles, goals, and policies.

Yeah, well I'm certain that those powers that won't allow that to happen just like how the world is squeezed by the oil industry.
Money and special interest control everything.
