There's not enough time in the day

Who's with me? I feel like every moment of my day is scheduled with something that HAS to get done. It's craziness. I wake up and immediately I feel like I'm behind for the day if I don't jump out of bed and tackle whatever crap needs to be done.

I could totally use 3-5 more hours in a day.

For me that feeling comes in waves. I'll be on top of my game for a while, then in a slump and behind for a while. It all evens out.

I've tried to cut down on my sleep, and then I am way less productive during the day. Argh! It's so hard to not get overwhelmed when I feel like this.

  • Unfortunately, Dave and myself get this feeling all the time :(

Our problem is weekends, we never seem to have one to ourselves, there's always something to do... *sigh* ah what I'd do for an extra 4 or 5 hours on a Sunday :o
Been to this many PJ shows: Reading 2006 London 2007 Manchester & London 2009 Dublin, Belfast, London, Nijmegen & Berlin 2010 Manchester 1 & Manchester 2 2012...

... and I still think Drive-By Truckers are better.

This is precisely why I've put in my two weeks notice at work. lol

I would kill for 3 more hours a day. That would get me to 8 hours sleep a night and I would be happy. I'm so tired :(

    Are you ADD/ADHD?

No, I'm just in Graduate school/interning/working and trying to still keep up with all the things around the home. I thought at the beginning of the semester when we found out there were no tests that I was golden. What I failed to take into account was the 2 presentations, 6 papers, and curriculum design in 11 weeks time was probably way more work then some tests!

Wow! The reason I asked you if you were ADD/ADHD was that your original post sounds alot like my wife, who is diagnosed ADHD. She is also in grad school, teaching, and working. She literally is busy all day long. Since I met her I have learned a little about ADD/ADHD people thru her and reading....they tend to feel like there's not enough time in the day and somehow also seem to fill up their days and lead very busy lives.

I recommend getting used to 24 hour days. ;)

However, I remember reading about an experiment they did where they had people living in underground caves for long periods of time, oblivious to day/night/time. They found that their circadian rhythms evolved into a 25 hour day with a nap after the midday meal. So, if you can find a grad school in some caverns I say try it out.

    it's a facade...a construct of the mind.
Progress is not made by everyone joining some new fad,
and reveling in it's loyalty. It's made by forming coalitions
