– A large majority of Iraqis–71%–say they would like the Iraqi government to ask for US-led forces to be withdrawn from Iraq within a year or less. Given four options, 37 percent take the position that they would like US-led forces withdrawn “within six months,” while another 34 percent opt for “gradually withdraw[ing] US-led forces according to a one-year timeline.”
– Support for attacks against US-led forces has increased sharply to 61 percent (27% strongly, 34% somewhat). This represents a 14-point increase from January 2006, when only 47 percent of Iraqis supported attacks.
– More broadly, 79 percent of Iraqis say that the US is having a negative influence on the situation in Iraq, with just 14 percent saying that it is having a positive influence.
– Asked “If the US made a commitment to withdraw from Iraq according to a timeline, do you think this would strengthen the Iraqi government, weaken it, or have no effect either way?” 53 percent said that it would strengthen the government, while just 24 percent said it would weaken the government.
– Asked what effect it would have “if US-led forces withdraw from Iraq in the next six months,” 58 percent overall say that violence would decrease (35% a lot, 23% a little).
"I'm not ungrateful that they took away Saddam Hussein," says Salam Ahmed, 30, a Shiite businessman. "But the job is done. Thank you very much. See you later. Bye-bye."

So before I could learn about it, I saw it. I saw it on my mom's black and white television, when people were arrested for what my mom called "protesting", and I saw it on the streets in Tarrytown when we went shopping at the Army & Navy store, where I saw nothing but skulls on khaki green t-shirts. Comic book covers showed more skulls, skeletons running in ragged and torn uniforms, clutching rifles, with bombs exploding right behind them.
That is what I knew of Viet Nam, back then. Anger, fear, frustration with our own government, protesting...
When I look at what is going on now in Iraq, I see the same damn thing.
It's time for us to start pulling out.
Because we are in charge of their country... not them.

They have their own country?
"We"? America? I don't agree.

Leave now... Shi'ite kill Sunnis and vice versa...
Leave in 2016... Shi'ite kill Sunnis and vice versa...
Leave in 2066... Shi'ite kill Sunnis and vice versa...
Never leave... Shi'ite kill Sunnis and vice versa...
Our cost is 'In the meantime'. How many of our soldiers have to die before we get past the 'acceptable losses' watermark? How much in tax dollars do we shovel onto this fire until we figure, there are better thing t odo with this money?
...
Me. We've past that point. Iraq is fucked up and will be fucked up. We have a choice between bad news or bad news... which one do you pick? I pick today's bad news because i don't want any more losses.

I also believe we have placed America in a position where Iran and/or Syria can come in and broker a peace between the warring sects. This would not be good for America. Imagine... Iran... Syria? Peace? But, it is a possibility, now.
Thanx, Mr. President.
Hail, Hail!!!
Hmm... It's land I guess, or it is it all just sand? Maybe sand doesn't technically qualify as soil.
more loopholes for Bush to exploit!

i could see iran and syria, but i doubt saudi arabia, certain elements in power have too strong a tie w/ the kingdom...nice deal they all got goin on...oil profits, profits from the wars from the instability they help foster, even train, arm and fund....
