Why don't we really export democarcy?

why dosen't the US, along with the UN, work to export actual democratic ideals, not just capitalism and imperialism. why not export the worker's sense of entitlement or civil rights? No matter what side of the political spectrum your on, we all agree that our goal should be a free world and a sort of universal human rights, right? This would solve alot of poverty issues. So why not? Of course it's not so easy and many factors are in the way. Their are many hidden truths that purposely keep this from happening. Someday this will be possible, i hope its in my lifetime.
