oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.

well since dunkman was unable to adequately explain....i will attempt to.

you are a puppet and beneath others, just as there are people to some degree beneath you and view your insight/opinion/advice, as a string they are attached too.

so yes....we are puppets and puppeteers.
live and let live...unless it violates the pearligious doctrine.

hmm... i don't think I'm beneath anyone... but I do think there are a group of people who control stuff we can't even possibly begin to understand.

yes Helen, those people are called 'crane operators' ... all those levers and dials.

who are these people, where are they based, hwo many of them are there, what tiny minute shred of evidence do you have for this theory or is it like Columbo and you have a hunch?

if you are not beneath anyone/attached to anyone.....i would be amazed.

me.....i have a family to support. as i see it, when you have a family to support there are strings attached you will never see and you pull strings you did not know you were in control of.

to me it's just common sense darling :) these people who run our world economically and politically... well see, the evidence they leave behind is just one of death and destruction... and things continue to go on the same all the time! Things change and yet nothing ever changes.

ajedigecko ahhh... I see what you mean and I agree... yes many of us are connected and our lives are a mixture of our own choices and the choices of those around us. I'm kinda coming from a more 'masters of war' crossed with '1984' point of view.

i understand the level at which the question is being proposed. i used the small sceneiro of me and my family only to address the large scenerio you are concerned about.

the way i view it........if it is at the smallest level (my family)....then is surely is at the largest level (world governments).

thats it? thats your explanation of world puppetry? Geppetto needn't worry!

you're question is 'am i a puppet in someone else's world'

    my answer is no

my question was about opinions, hence the usage of the word 'think' in the title. You're trying to spin things this early in a thread? :D when the original post is still at the top of the page? Ah dunk... I'm disappointed. What happened to you whilst I was gone? :(

I'm not concerned (before dunk starts telling me how much sleep I lose over it :D ) cos it's always happened, it's happening now and it always will happen. My view is that they're never at war with eachother... they're always just at war with the 'little people' keeping them down!

  • Wealthy elites need workers to make them rich. This is just human nature.

There has to be more balance in what people see as success. Unfortunately it's very much a "me first" world.

Do I need three porches, a ferrari, five homes, a multi-million dollar salary, and a few cottages to be happy? does anyone? I'm guessing probably not.
Progress is not made by everyone joining some new fad,
and reveling in it's loyalty. It's made by forming coalitions
over specific principles, goals, and policies.

if ya need that to make ya happy, there's something seriously missing in your life anyway! Things have gone to shit in Ireland... so many people bought so much 'stuff' and within the next few months (when the mortgage insurance runs out) there are going to be a hell of a lot of keys handed back. There are estates full of houses lying empty! We had so much money at our disposal over the past 15 years and yet people chose to live far far beyond their means... banks gave 100% mortgages... and now they're gonna own a lot of houses after being paid a couple of years for nothing!

And people told me I was crazy for renting :D

you are crazy for renting, but you are sensible for not taking out a 100% mortgage on a house you could barely afford in the 1st place.

house prices have dropped recently, but they are still 40% higher than they were 10 years ago. put it this way, if i sold my house tomorrow i'd have £70k to £80k in pure profit. you've rented all that time and have absolutely nothing to show for it... thats why you were crazy for renting... :)
