The other 3/4 will be burning the T-Shirts they bought out in the parking lot... sort of like when I was pissed off at Toby Keith so i ran out and bought a bunch of his CDs and smashed them with a sledge hammer. That'll show him... wait... what happened to all my money?Allen Fieldhouse, home of the 2008 NCAA men's Basketball Champions! Go Jayhawks!

I think someone out on the Porch met Stone and asked him, 'Hey man... I live in South Carolina... any chance of Pearl Jam making a swing through the South some time soon?"
Stone replied, "Dino lives in Alabama, right? So... no, we won't be playing the South".
That made me actually LOL.If you want to tell people the truth, make them laugh, otherwise they'll kill you.

In all honesty, in Asheville NC they played Masters of War to a very pleased crowd. If you want to tell people the truth, make them laugh, otherwise they'll kill you.

A Christian complaining about Ed's ranting during concerts. He doesn't spell very well either but I see his point.

His point of not agreeing with Pearl Jam's politics, I completely understand.
His belief that they should shut up and sing, I don't. Does being in a band strip you of your First Amendment rights? He has the right to disagree all he wants... but, the irony he fails to see... his belief is more anti-American than the opinion against America that is spoken aloud.Allen Fieldhouse, home of the 2008 NCAA men's Basketball Champions! He doesn't get any more chances from me since he's the reason I had to drive 7 hours to see PJ this year. Sorry all out of chances. If you want to tell people the truth, make them laugh, otherwise they'll kill you.

Why not? I'm curious!! Let's evolve theories. I think it has to do with ticket sales. But they could always play smaller venues so us fans stranded down here get a chance too.If you want to tell people the truth, make them laugh, otherwise they'll kill you.

The only people that sell out shows around my area are country stars. And after going to the last couple of shows I've been too...I'm surprised anyone I enjoy comes around.0 -

What puts me off sometimes when celebrities use their audience to express themselves politically is they often times lately are very abusive and indignent when not everyone agrees, like how dare they not agree after all I am the enlightned star. I think Eddie has tempered himself somewhat in this area and is not pushing it as much lately. He states his positions usually with a couple of cheap shots and lets it go and doesn't shape the whole show around the topic. No, I was talking more attendance wise. The NIN nail show I went to wasn't even half sold (rounding down). But he bashed bush a couple of times and got some cheers. Didn't hear any boo's but that's probably due more to the fact that it was young people in attendance. Also, the G'N'R show sold shit. But Toby Keith is expected to sell out.0 -

Yeah, I should have caught that. It's no surprise as the south has such a strong military support base that Toby and the like would be the big draws. I think that it's kind of hard for the average southerner to relate to the more cutting edge, cerebral or just plain off the wall type acts. They sure could get behind some ass kickin country rock or southern rock though ( back in the day). I'm not being critical I consider myself a southerner for the most part. I have also noticed that some acts will test the waters during a show with the political stuff and if it flys with an audience they will run with it or if not even change course sometimes.Don't Ignore The Rusted Signs

By the way, NIN was an awesome fucking show. Although it was just a tad too planned for me.0 -

nice backpedal
Why would anyone be surprised at the band's political statements? They've been consistent about their stance since day one.
This seems like a trivial complaint.hate was just a legend0
