i've seen both skits and i agree they are hilarious, and unfortunately very, very close to the truth.
however, i think it's dangerous to assume that since she is a fucking joke and the laughing stock of the republican party, that most idiot americans will see through her veneer of lipsticked hockey mom and realize what an utter disaster she would be as vice president (i can't even entertain the thought of her as president...). i think there are ALOT of dumbass americans who still like her and will think she did a terrific job in the debate against joe biden so long as she doesn't fall absolutely on her face. as long as she survives the debate whole still smirking and well-coiffed, they'll think she "won", which will mean that we're truly fucked since those are the people who will vote in droves.

I live there now, but I'm originally from the Pittsburgh area... a whole other mess of bad accents. Luckily, I avoided getting the hardcore "yinzer" Pittsburgh accent

The thing with Palin ... the McCain campaign screwed up her strategy ... they should have let her loose from jump.
By protecting her, the scrutiny levels are so enormous, the multiplication factor of her errors are huge.
If she had been out there, the big errors would be long gone and she'd be back on message by now ...
Totally agree... if she did the whole media tour, she would have made some mistakes, but with the sheer volume, they would be a bunch of little mistakes.
But now, she is so sheltered, that everything she says is put under such scrutiny.
Listening to McCain talk about her today, it just seems like they are trying to create this Palin character, instead of just letting her be who she is. Now when she does interviews, there is no way that she can give honest answers, but instead is trying to be the character that the campaign created of her.

She definitely should be scrutinized, I didn't say that she shouldn't.

but you're complaining that everything she says & does is coming under such scrutiny. or was that not a complaint? i get the impression that you actually think she's a good choice and shouldn't be under "such scrutiny".

If you somehow get that impression, then you must not have read my 473 posts either bashing the choice or making fun of her. I wasn't complaining, just making an observation that if someone who the has all of the media attention in the world says very little, those few comments will get much more scrutiny, then if she gave a hundred interviews.

I have seen a few conservatives on the news claim that the impersonation is an indicator of the liberal media.
With regard to Palin being "unleashed" there are those in the Republican camp who think that it would be even worse if they unleashed her. There are those who think that the fundamental understanding simply isn't there on a number of issues, and they have been cramming Palin with facts behind the scenes.
I don't know what to believe. All I have to go on is 3 interviews that she completely botched. When people scrutinize her based on those 3 interviews, people scream out and say we shouldn't scrutinize her.
I've never seen anything like it.

I truely feel bad for her..she should have never been put in this position. Imagine how she feels going into this debate...wow...your cramming for a test with you'll be graded by the world audience.
