It's funny how
Things I knew as a kid,
I've disproven as an adult.
And it's funny how
Things I thought worth dying for
Now suddenly seem wrong,
And that the little things as a child
Are worth defending as an adult.
It's funny how the angle you look at things
Change the white and black
To black and white.
And how grey remains the same.
It's funny how nothing is the same.
It's funny how nothing is funny anymore.
It's depressing that nothing is funny anymore.
It's depressing that everything is depressing.
I often wonder what things will be like when I get there.
But there is always here and I'm never there.
It's funny how I haven't lost anything
Yet I seem lost myself.
I shouldn't have to fight a battle I'll never win, just to lose those I've never had.

Throw away the pressed suit.
Put on the shorts.
Play in the sand.
Fly a kite.
Finger paint.
All still can be right.
Let the children be the teachers.
They have the answers.
Live in the healing light.
Nothing's quite what it seems in the city of dreams.
