Binaural

I had a vision just the other day,
I was sitting at Botanic and
watching the sun fall from the sky
and you were standing at the gate
and waving it away with a smile
up on your face,
and you said "Hey, it's not so bad,
the only thing leaving is today."

The clouds gathered over your head
and broke upon your back, and
it felt like a soul breaking

Then you turned and went on your way
leaving your memory burning out
like a ciggarrette fading out in the
ashtray, and the cup of your
future years empty and stained,
so the stars came out from hiding
and lay bright in the night sky

When I woke up from my sleep
the grass was wrapped in morning dew,
the gate was rusted shut
and the sun had climber back over the hill

Cheers I've been writing for a while but I haven't ever posted anything. I wrote it for a friend who was murdered just about a year ago, it was terrible.
