Her music is the ocean. We wait still
and silent for navigation. Only
by the ocean can we hear crescendo
of the wind. Only by the ocean we
feel the light touch of the sun reflected
in crystals. With the ocean as guide
we see the bashful moon hiding behind
trees as it reveals it's studied wisdom.
This wisdom a shared experience, not
sunken metal but released cycles.
Her music flows around each seat rising
to the celing then crashes from her
piano. Her virtuosity drowns
us and we're hungry to reclaim our fins.

If any one could find the painting for this that would be great. It is my favorite painting of Jacob Lawrence's and is very beautiful. Also, constructive criticism still appreciated. I'm trying to put a smiley face in here, and it's not working :-)

I love the repeated echoes and crashing ocean cadences here. I saw Tori in 1992 too, in Cambridge, England. :)

Small World! Was it just Tori and her piano? Were you as blown away as I was by her incredible talent? Can you find the picture and post it here, please?

Yes, it was just her and her piano. Somebody fainted in the front row and show stopped the show until she'd recovered. She sang much of "Little Earthquakes" and performed covers of The Rolling Stones' "Angie" and Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit." It was a great set. April 1992, I think.
