"after Frank O'Hara"

lately i've been reading Frank O'Hara
and staring at my ceiling
like it's the night sky

maybe i've had too much coffee
maybe we all have
but everynight i stay up watching
shadows move like days left

the sky is snowing early tonight
and i'm keeping myself warm
with a blanket and her, snugged
closely on our spines

in the next room my friends are smoking weed
and the smell is starting to go through my hair
where you softly pat your hand on and off
on and off
and when i say thank you
you whisper nada, nada mucho

looking out the window
clouds look white stars
and oh how you would love for me to push you around
like a child in the supermarket
mezmorized by the gay songs of the frozen food section

i hope that when i turn fifty
i'll have a wife
who looks at me like that
waiting to play games in the clouds
when the days too cold to go outside

petting my hair
so softly back and forth

Mitch Hedberg- RIP 1968-2005. your jokes have laughed me through a lot. I thank you.

    I like this one. :)
    &&&&&&&&&&&&&&
  • indeed...very nice
The only thing I enjoy is having no feelings....being numb rocks!

And I won't make the same mistakes
    (Because I know)
Because I know how much time that wastes
    (And function)
    Function is the key
