Well, Number 1 is obviously Pearl Jam, so the other five would be...
2. Alice in Chains
3. Blind Melon
4. Soundgarden
5. Tool
6. Live
Still hanging on to the 90's? It's hard for me to let go also. I do have some newer bands I like, but I know there will never be a span of four years in my life with so many great bands and albums as 1991-1995. 1995 might have been the pinnacle of rock greatness. I love all of those bands you mentioned except Tool. For some reason I was never able to really get into them. But I'd still listen to them before probably 95% of the new stuff on mainstream rock radio.
Gov't Mule, not sure if anyone mentioned them or not but I don't know why more PJ fans aren't into them,Great singer/guitarist(Warren Haynes),great rockin songs, great ballads, great solo's,different set every night, kind of sounds like I'm describing some other band we all like.
U2 (sorry, but they ARE great...)
Rolling Stones (still kicking ass after all these years!)
White Stripes
Tori Amos
Patty Griffin
Bob Dylan
Pretenders
Johnny Cash
PJ Harvey
Nirvana
Foo Fighters

"I try my best to chug, stomp, weep, whisper, moan, wheeze, scat, blurt, rage, whine, and seduce. With my voice I can sound like a girl, the boogieman, a Theremin, a cherry bomb, a clown, a doctor, a murderer. I can be tribal. Ironic. Or disturbed. My voice is really my instrument."
