love the song, and i know the premise behind it (what michael stipe said to thom)

anyway, i work part time at scholastic book fairs and i came across this book in the warehouse entitled "how to disappear completely and never be found." is this a common phrase (i had never heard it before the song) or are the two somehow interconnected??

I would guess it has to do with that book. Yorke loves taking song titles and lyrics from literature.
  • it's certainly not a common phrase in america at least..

also, you mention something Stipe said to Thom..

good to know also that Thom dreamt he was floating down a river motionless and incapable of moving.. just watching everyone pass by.. kind of poetic.. and that's another inspiration :)

Almost every RH album produces one song that i can call "the best song i've ever heard" and this is one of them..

    love it :)
Come on pilgrim you know he loves you..
