Ed's pre-show shows?

OK I am going to Tampa and I am wondering does he always come out and play a little set before the opening band? Or does that only happen at random shows? I want to get to the show at 6 to make sure I don't miss it if it happens, but not everyone wants to risk it if it doesn't happen. (Please no screw your friends if they don't want to get there early replys, I am only trying to find out any information about the EV pre-show sets.)

Can anyone tell me what the deal is or does it change from tour to tour? I figure it may be our only chance to see some of the EV songs from the Into the Wild soundtrack.

I don't think you have to be in your seats at 6pm, but 30 minutes before KoL hit the stage might be a good idea....

    ;)
  • thanks. Oh yeah, no chance we are missing KOL they are half the reason we are going to Tampa. They do fucking rock. So getting to our seats by 7 we should be relatively safe?

Couple of reasons to get to the venue early regardless of if Ed does pre-set. Seen few shows with long 10c ticket window lines. Many have missed the beginning of shows cause they were stuck in line. You'll also be able to queue early in line to get into venue upping your chances at PJ merchandise (posters, etc).

Usually, the shows at the Forum have mech booths outside...

Last time PJ played here, I bought a poster, took it back to the car and didn't have to worry about it all night!

Not always - another poster pointed out you can typically tell by the stage setup when the doors open. Just be there on time - KOL rock and you may get an eV song or two as a bonus.

that is great advice and exactly what I think. Get there early, I need to get there. Thanks all who replied for helping me to control my own paranoia.

no problem. should be plenty of info between those two threads.

since your show is second, it will be hard to figure out if he's doing pre-sets, but I would bet he will since he now has so much material to choose from, even more than before. I will be in the same boat since I am planning on not looking at any setlists before I attend my one show this tour (DC), but I will be there in plenty of time to make sure I dont miss the pre-set if there is one. its worth it.

I'm lokoing forward to some presets since he's only done 2 out of all the shows I attended...he doesn't bother in Europe because we have GA so lots of people are there for the opening band anyway.

in the first 4 anyway, need to be in to see KOL regardless :D

pretty sure "they" (being the band) tape it along with everything else BUT to answer your question it is NEVER included with official boots (which sucks IMHO) so, please tape away and remember to share :)

Yeah, I meant they as in the band.
So I guess i'm taping if there is a pre-set at Camden 2
