F*ckin' Up: standard or drop D tuned?

Please help me settle a bet with the lead singer/guitarist in my brother's band.
He insists this song is in drop D, I said it's in standard tuning.
We're talking about the way PJ plays it, not Uncle Neil.
I know it CAN be played both ways, but to get that PJ vibe, which is better?
Thanks!

It's so accurate, that if PJ don't play it like the tabs there, then they are wrong.
