F*ckin' Up: standard or drop D tuned?

Please help me settle a bet with the lead singer/guitarist in my brother's band.

He insists this song is in drop D, I said it's in standard tuning.

We're talking about the way PJ plays it, not Uncle Neil.

I know it CAN be played both ways, but to get that PJ vibe, which is better?

    The band I was in years ago liked the PJ cover so much that we decided to cover their cover, and we always did it in drop-D like PJ did.

    However... I always preferred to play it in standard tuning.
    ...and if you don't like it, you can suck on an egg.

    Just checked the tab, it's in open G with a cappo on 35...



    No, it's still Drop D....
