My Girlfriend said to me..."How many guitars do you need?" and I replied...."How many pairs of shoes do you need?" She got really quiet.

there's a girl on geargeek that's gone through like 15 overdrive pedals and still isn't happy.
Ah. Everyone's favorite Canuck is back. Welcome.
It used to be that way in the old days anyway. I never know at first about pedals until after I use them for a while once you understand what it needs (component wise) to sound good. the rest is gravy and marketing and pretty colors.
however, they're all capable of making something that sounds good.
no one's gonna sound like hendrix either unless:
1. they have oodles of talent and sold their soul or something
2. use a nasty old wah with poor bypass and iffy components
3. use a fuzz of the same nature.
and you're right about the QC. the control limits are much tighter nowadays. i think the sounds are "better" nowadays but very few times is the beauty of imperfection captured in the new pedals.
of course, speaking of fuzz, now i'm jonesing for a fulltone 69. luckily, i don't have room on my board for it.
same here for a while now For 125 it's much more attainable than a Fuzz Factory.
the beauty of imperfection is what's captured in tube amps. The voltage sag etc. That's one reason your BD-2 sounds so good. Keeley knows how to get asymetrical clipping at a high fidelity level.
i love my BD-2. i should bronze it. or at least buy a cheap used BD-2 and replicate keeley's mods (for a backup).
cool color huh.
I want to try a Keeley BD-2 so bad.
I know what I want, all I need is money. But it is so damned incredibly hard to find the pedals, amps, and guitars that fit your needs and your styles and your sounds. There are literally millions of options, and each has their merits. For me, it's a Fender Tele-Sonic through a pair of Keeley Tubescreamers, an Ibanez digital delay, an MXR Phase 90, into a vintage Fender Bassman or Sovtek Mig head, and out a pair of 4 x 10" cabinets, one with Celestion 30-watt ceramics and one with Weber 35-watt AlNiCo's. I mean, that's a lot of specifics... and I don't have nearly the options of some guitar players out there.
And so, the search for the Holy Grail continues...
about the only thing i'm sure of is that i want a tele within 5 feet of me at all times.
and all this time i should have just been taking lessons.
Hi my names Paul. I bought a new leather strap last week and a 10 foot George L's cable to hopefully start replacing everything with Goerge L's The week before I bought a new sound card and memory card so I'll get off my ass and start recording. A couple of nights ago I wrote some cool stuff. I still owe money on my recorder, after I pay that off I can by new stuff. Sometimes will power sucks.
he's probably better than me
yeah but you got all the gear. He could teach you some stuff. You could teach him how to make cool noises. Effects can be difficult to master.
