Getting rid of pennies does make sense though. Canada did that several years ago, and it's really way better to not have to deal with them.
Do they just round up to 5 cents when paying cash?

I can beat the system by paying cash every time it ends in $0.01 or .02, and $0.06 or .07, and debit for everything else where it would round up!. Suckers....
It makes a lot of sense though, cash payments can't be a big percentage of sales anymore. And the rounded should all break out even in the end for those that do.

Excellent question! I would like to think that good faith is greater in the real world and believe that it doesn't exist much online. Some people read to reply and not to understand.

My pov is that in the last four years in response to some/most/all of what President Biden did was met with criticism from some on the right. The response to them was "what about Trump/now do Trump/where were you when Trump."

So now there will be four years of "what about Biden/now do Biden/where were you when Biden" and it's all caps "both sides!!!" like in order to shut down/deflect the criticism.
Also consider that there wasn’t whataboutism happening when people criticized Biden, just like it doesn’t always happen when someone criticizes Trump now. A lot if what I’m seeing is that response to Trump criticism is met with thinking it’s all justified mixed with haha laugh at the liberal tears.

The “both sides” or “whataboutism” would be justified, if for example, the repubs actually passed a health care plan better than the ACA, and Dems roundly criticized it, talked about and promised to kill it or replace it with something much better and less expensive and then voted 30+ times over the next 15 years to kill ACA but without a replacement plan or anything, really.

Both sides are not even remotely close to how they govern and what they believe in. One side routinely criticizes and condemns and when they have the majority, does nothing to make things better for the majority. They have no plan.

    Policy is not their forte.

There always has been that argument, and often time (not always) its valid.
When AOC went on about the migrant conditions and "drinking from the toilets" even though those facilities existed before and after trump, but only voices complaints when its trump. Thats a fair response to say "why didn't you complain when the other side had the same conditions?" The right will complain about the number of days Biden took off and say "he's back at the beach again," and the left complains about the number of days trump takes off and spends on the golf course. But they're both silent on their own front.

I think a lot has changed in the last 10 years. First I recall about golfing/vacation time was about Obama. What I've noticed though is R's, mostly Trumpers, complain the most about the thing they themselves then abuse/do (i.e. Trump and golfing, fraud, wasted tax payer money, etc.). It does exist on the D's side and needs to be curbed, but it almost seems disingenuous when brought up by R's if you're going to elect Trump, someone who is by far the worst offender of all the common things voters complain about.
    It's a hopeless situation...

The golf thing: liberals bring it up because TRUMP CRITICIZES HIS OPPOSITION for it. Biden did not, at least not to the same level. It’s the hypocrisy from the candidate that is the issue.

I didn’t even follow what her single issue was.  Why did voting for Trump seem right when her issue seemed to be her own infertility? Did I miss something obvious?

Edit: fascinating though that she called herself a swing voter. How the hell did anybody forget about January 6 and about all the miserable whining he did for four years showing just how self-centered he is? I understand hard-core MAGA voting for him a lot more than I understand swing voters doing so. I think it points the importance of how podcasts and social media compared to legacy media.

Yup.  I feel it is very valid to think the government needs cut back....even to a degree most here would be appalled at.  But this idiot is using a sledgehammer.  He and his admin aren't looking for fraud or waste.  They just want to take $ away and I am sure filter to themselves.

Yeah, I think you’d be hard pressed to find any American who doesn’t think that there’s government spending waste (obviously there would be much disagreement as to what - but I’d rather be having THAT argument), but destroying it all is not the approach. This is the move of unserious and unintelligent people who want to be seen as such.

Agreed, the government absolutely needs to cut back on wasteful spending, and also agreed... that's not what these f'ers are doing.

To your last point about them filtering the $ to themselves, it would be insanely naive for anyone to think otherwise.
