Daughter's First Show, please play Something Special!!!

I've been to over 50 shows, starting with the Trocadero show in Philly in '92 and tonight, September 15th, Boston 1 at Fenway will be my daughter's first ever PJ show! She is super excited.

After many years taking her twin brother to shows with me, I finally pulled her away from her Taylor Swift obsession and got her into Pearl Jam with Dark Matter. Specifically, the song Something Special. We cried together when we first heard it and now she's digging through the back catalog finding other favorites. Rearviewmirror is working for her too, helping her cope with the loss of an important friendship.

We'd both love to hear Something Special tonight so we can sing along together. And, if you're feeling generous, Rearviewmirror, All Those Yesterdays and my holy grail…Parachutes!

Thanks for these last few shows, legendary!

Love,
Maya and Fred

Not only did she get to hear Something Special live, they played her second favorite, Rearviewmirror right after!!! We had SUCH A GREAT TIME! The night began with two crazy lucky coincidences. First, when we got to our seats, I spotted an Ed guitar pick on the ground. He must have left it there during soundcheck for a lucky fan to find. A few minutes later, the artistic director for a local improv group in Providence wound up sitting right next to us. The night continued to throw great surprises… Olivia with Glen, John Krasinski and Justin Theroux onstage and of course BLOOD!!! Epic show! Can't wait to do it all over again on Tuesday night with my son.

  • Such an amazing show! I brought my boys (ages 4 and 7) for their first show too and the dedication for Something Special made me tear up. That song, this band, our kiddos ❤️ Something special—and beyond—to share this experience and this music with them.
