I thought it would be a neat experiment to find out people's top three words to describe Ed's vocals.

My picks are Haunting, Passionate and Release

    I can go on for a while because it is different whit every song so i guess that the emotions from the song(how he feels while singing it) are what his voice sounds like....does that make any sense??

    The first time I saw him sing was a Bob Dylan 30th Anniversary special. It was a rerun of the televised event. Anyway, it was the first time I thought, "There's someone who sings to his higher power. He's singing beyond the audience." So, I guess my choices would be

    He has got so much variety to his voice I couldn't sum it up to just three things. Everything about it is just so amazingly beatifull.

    is it even fair to pick three words to describe Ed's voice? everyone choices make sense to me...i guess Ed's voice is everything!

    Musically speaking: his voice has a very wide range. That means his voice can be adjusted to songs of various moods and emotions. Plus, he has a very strong voice, and he doesn't sound like he forces to sing in a very passionate and emotional way (unlike some singers). I think the mood of PJ songs is underlined, underscored, emphasized and empowered by his voice.

    So many different things that make him a great singer........

    His wide range........high notes to low........screaming from one number to being gentle the next.........holding on to notes forever

    He doesnt sound manufactured, edited, or fake. It sounds natural, and reflects his character and style as a person.

    and i love how he always adds in bad ass sounds....for example, long trail offs, big howls, or shakes at the end of a note

    Eddie sings with a huge ammount of passion and desire.. His voice is haunting at times.

    I agree totally with the last part. His voice just draws me in and sends chills and comfort and energy, etc., all at the same time. No one like him. :)

    She could have meant the way he looks while singing, which is really intense. The way his face shows so much emotion.

    And I really do not think Eddie would mind anyone giving that opinion. We have a ton of very young girls with crushes on Eddie....

    Above all, his passion!! his intensity and how he really make you feel what he is singing, I love his baritone voice :D
