Simpsons tonite, no pearl jam LOL

So I'm probably the only one who still watches simpsons live, but tonite the sea captain was portrayed as an Indiana jobe type who ended up looking for treasure in the waters offshore of Springfield. Anywho he finally finds the goids but the mayor takes the riches and it leads to a typical town hall to decide what to do with the money. Krustys sidekick with the bone in his hair  er mel, after a few suggestions proclaims they build a rock and roll hall if fame but with no Pearl Jam. The show ends with the school covered and a banner reading no Pearl Jam. Good times.

Also, st louis is going to be the epic show of the 2020 gigaton tour. Peace.

give J Roddy Waslton & the Business a listen, that is all.

I know the band has been referenced a few times on the show. Last one I remember is an episode where they go to China. The episode ends in a riot where one person exclaims "Question everything!" And another person yells "Why doesn't Pearl Jam ever come here!?"

I still watch the Simpsons, especially reruns on FXX and interact with a writer on twitter (Michael Price) from time to time. The last few seasons have been solid in my opinion, not as memorable as earlier episodes but still effective.

It happened last night, in the new episode entitled The Miseducation of Lisa Simpson.

After the two mentions in the 90s and 00s (you can view them here), Pearl Jam were mentioned again in the Simpsons last night.

You can watch the full episode on Fox via their website.

We have been watching all the reruns on Disney+ every night. The old episodes are classics. Nothing strong or memorable with the past few years.

What Matt needs to do is bring back Futurama. I do like Disenchantment but Futurama was so good.

So is this a dig or compliment?

Of course I get its always a compliment to be mentioned in the Simpsons, but you know what I mean.

I completely agree. Futurama was quality, Matt G took all the best writers and producers with him for that show.

Strong disagree.  John Swartzwelder, George Meyer, Mike Scully, Ian Maxtone-Graham-- just to name four of the best writers in the show's history-- all remained with The Simpsons after Futurama premiered.  And guys like Al Jean and Mike Reiss are still involved with the writing today.

The show is still consistently amusing, and it still has an audience.  It ranks 10th overall this season among entertainment programs in the 18-49 demographic (and 4th among scripted series).
I gather speed from you fucking with me.

Back in the day I devoted a lot of time and energy to getting my hands on one of the Jimbo Jones holding the Alien Dude: Need two tickets to Pearl Jam painted cels. Was disappointed to ultimately learn they destroyed most of the cels from that episode including the sign cels. I own other cels and artwork from the show but that one in particular was a unicorn.

Definitely a dig at all the people who complain when any band they deem unworthy makes the hall of fame.
