...I dunno man. The ticket system for the past few tours just doesn't seem like it works, for whatever reason. It just sucks to continuously get shut out and have to scramble for tickets via other outlets.

I'm 3 for 17 including the two shows I got shut out on this time around, tho I guess you could say 3 for 15 if we count the shows I got tix to but entered at 2 different levels as one chance.

Still, that's a batting average of .200 at best which is kind of a bummer all things considered. Am I feeling sorry for myself here, or is my won/loss record on these ticket lotteries really as bad as it looks to me?

I suggest you step out on your porch...run away my son...see it all...oh see the world // I wait on the porch...hoping someday I'll be let in

yea but the odds aren't as bad as you say. The reason I am saying that is it is pointless to even put in for Boston or NY as a 2nd option, never mind 4,5 or 6. Putting in for GA really hurt your chances too with the old system..

That's fair. It's the double edged sword of living where they always come to play. There are a lot of shows but they are really hard to get into (via lottery anyway).

It's because you prioritized GA over reserved seating. Hard to win consistently when you're going for such a small pool of tix with < 30% odds. And I doubt any of the NYC shows you selected gave out reserved tix to anyone who listed them as a 2nd priority.

Most folks gunning for GA under the old system were doing so knowing full well that they would probably lose and have to subsequently scramble or were doing it on secondary accounts in their spouse's name hoping to get lucky.

Had similar luck, but always sought Wrigley/MSG and the ToTD shows so my chances were already slim - especially if prioritizing GA.

Regardless, had very good luck buying/selling extras and getting into the door for most shows.

Yah, you've got a mix of some bad luck, but also losing on GA/ToTD situations where the # of available tickets is insanely low.

I suppose it's something good about the new system.  You no longer have to make reserved your #2 choice.   Should make it slightly more successful to get tickets to a #1 priority show (if your the kind of person who goes all in on GA).

I've done pretty good.  2013 - Won Vancouver / Lost Seattle (should of made Seattle #1 priority, Vancouver wasn't close to selling out 10c tickets).  2016 - GA at both Wrigley Shows and Pemberton was all GA (no 10c tickets).   2018 - GA for both Seattle shows.

I suppose the advantage is after getting bad tickets to seattle 2013, my wife joined the fan club.  Thus if we ever go to 2 shows in the same city, we both put in for opposite shows.   We've lucked out and pulled off GA for both when we've done that.    I tried to do that with a friend for the upcoming oakland shows.  He won night 2, I lost night 1 (I should of chosen best available).

I suppose that's what works for me.  I live equal distance from Vancouver / Seattle.  Seattle is tough for tickets, Vancouver is pretty easy (assuming there's a seattle show right after).   I get a bit of an advantage of having access to the smaller Vancouver market.    Plus the stadium shows had big pits in 2018, so I think a lot of people won Seattle on those picks.  No were back to arena sized pits.

I see 5 lotteries and 3 wins. For northeast shows you simply cannot reasonably expect to get anything lower than your first priority, the exception being the stadium shows where I'd say you got very lucky to get your second choice.

Yeah, the Best Available option is key, though I suppose it made me re-jigger my expectations unreasonably.

Dude you got GA seats you’re very lucky. How are you seriously counting this way? Going third priority for GA seats you obviously will lose. You got tickets in three lotteries out of five so you’re at 60%. You can’t seriously expect to win all when you list so many.

If you have won  a single 10C lotto for MSG the last decade your membership has paid for itself.

    The end.

I have seen 25 shows since 1996, and my stats with the lottery look about similar. I understand that people are frustrated, but the membership is 20 bucks a year, gives you a better shot at certain things and tickets, and if you can't get tickets through 10C, you will get them elsewhere. I have never not gotten into a show I wanted to go to. PJ fans are also a really nice bunch for the most part, and it helps to be a part of the community and be nice to others. If you feel like they don't deliver on what you pay for, maybe don't pay the 20 bucks. This is not supposed to sound nasty, but it is what it is. Try to make the best of it :)

Exactly!  Based on this list and how he set priorities he basically went 3 for 5!  That's pretty damn good and shouldn't be complaining!  First world problems...

I get that it's a tough market, but traveling for shows isn't always an option. I've gotten tickets for Milwaukee, Albany and Toronto in the past, so I take your point. Just not always feasible. And I get that I'm lucky to live in a place where they play on a pretty consistent basis.

Yeah, I'm probably looking at it wrong. I can own that. It just seems like since the current process started it's been a lot more difficult to secure tickets through the 10C. But if it's working for the majority then it's a good system, even if it seems to be less efficient than it was for me personally in the past. I can see that my .200 math is not quite the right metric to use but I'm not sure 60% is correct either. Either way, it was bugging me and people have been helpful at putting things into perspective, so thanks.

You are only going for tickets in the northeast.  It will be a low success rate.  The 10C can’t work miracles.  Supply and demand.
  • I think I got a simple solution, stop putting in for shows...lol...all of your anguish Gone!

There looks like a common theme among your picks. And that is that you don't seem to understand that selecting GA after your top priority is a wasted pick in USA shows. I'm not saying it's your fault...more that it appears that you don't understand how the draws are done.

For instance, in the first leg of 2013 tour - you threw your picks 2, 3 & 4 in the garbage and never had a chance to get something after Hartford reserved. (FWIW I did something similar in the 2014 tour, but learned from my mistake)
