Awesome openers; I don’t think I could sit through the headliner. And it’s at Great Woods, which makes it a nonstarter for me anyways.
    I SAW PEARL JAM

Good read!  I'd actually like to see that show.  As for the album itself, this really stood out to me:
To put it another way, this one album, written by a former teenage pop star from Canada, has sold as many copies as Taylor Swift’s entire discography combined.

even all the dudes I knew in that era owned it, or if they didn't, they didn't shout to turn it off at parties. it had a hard edge to it.
    Darwinspeed, all.

I couldn't stand it. Her singing voice was just so grating, and the production was a bit too polished for my taste. Also, I'm pretty sure she's partially responsible for an entire generation's misunderstanding/misuse of the word "irony" -- something that, as an editor, I still deal with on a weekly basis at the very least.

I loved her as God in Dogma, though, and she seems like an all-around awesome human being.

yeah, I remember how she got raked over the coals about Ironic and its obvious misuse. Meh, it's a song. not supposed to make sense or be taken literally.

I mean, with the lights out, is it REALLY less dangerous?

Same, I'd rather see Liz and Shirley in a double bill (interpret that however you like) in a smaller venue,
    This weekend we rock Portland

Exactly!  Even the rednecks that live around here went along for the ride.

Saw her on that original tour.  Back whenever that was.  She played the bight before rhcp and a few weeks before Manson tore the place down.  It was a good show if I remember right, in fact I think it was a few weeks after Natalie merchant at a different college nearby.  All good shows... all I remember about Alanis was that her bassist was the best musician on the stage that night.
I'm like an opening band for your mom.
  •  ;) so sweet the yeàrs role bye the engaging everlasting elbows of time...lingering at fingertips edge...thànks for the news and reflections of future days...yeah that's only right...

The last time I saw Alanis she played before PJ at the Groundwork Seattle.  I don't recall it memorable.

The time before that was the Jagged Little Pill tour in Vancouver in '96.   Our Lady Peace opened and was touring for their first album Naveed.   That show was awesome!! :)  Both bands tore the house down.   Also weird that Taylor Hawkins was in Alanis' band back then.  I remember him show up in the Foo Fighters, and thought that was cool.

    *Sold*

I have 2 tickets I’m selling for the 8/31 show at Merriweather Post Pavilion. Rescheduled from July 2020 and I can no longer make the new date.

Seats are in Section 201, Seat 21 in Rows K & L, so they aren’t next to each other but instead in front of/behind one another

I have paper tickets in hand and will send FedEx

Paid $240 total originally, looking to sell for $150/pair or $75 each
