Lakers look good without LBJ.  When he comes back I expect a long playoff run!

    you're funny
Just wait.  They'll turn it on during playoffs.

Was looking at stats and there are 6 players w over 30ppg!!!  That is just nuts.  Has that ever happened in the league?

6 players with >30 ppg? They are averaging over 180 ppg? That seems surprising. This is the Clippers?

No, it hasn't ever happened in the NBA. The 1961-62 season had 5 players finish with over 30 ppg. Unless I missed one on basketball-reference, no other season has had more than 3 average more than 30 ppg.

I have been wondering why Chris Webber was never put into the HOF.  Always thought he was good enough for it.  Dude could ball.

Fumbling on the internet and just found out that Cwebb was inducted in 2021...  I missed this.

Mavericks tanking.  Luka wants a trade.  Good for him.  The team stinks without him and Kyrie isn't helping them.

How come in the playoff game the 7th seed plays the 8th and the 9th plays the 10th? Shouldn't it be 7 vs 10 and 8 vs 9?

The loser of 7/8 game plays the winner of the 9/10 game for the final playoff spot. They're giving the 7/8 seeds a slight advantage while also giving the 9/10 seeds a fair chance.

Didn't they need overtime to beat a depleted Timberwolves squad last night?

I don't think the 7/8 seeds play the 9/10 seeds next. I thought the winners of the respective seeds play the 1 and 2 seeds after the play in games otherwise someone gets a bye.

The winner of the 7/8 game moves on to face the 2 seed.
So, after last night Atlanta is set as East 7 and faces the Celtics, Lakers are now west 7 and face Memphis.
Tonight the 9/10 games take place in both conferences. Losers are eliminated.
Winners tonight will face last night's losers on Friday for the right to become the 8 seed.
So Miami having lost last night awaits the winner of tonight's' Chicago/Toronto matchup to visit South Beach Friday night and whoever wins that game becomes East 8 and plays Milwaukee. Sam scenario for west, Minnesota is hosting winner of OKC/NO on Friday for right to play Denver.

Yes deprecated team but they beat them.

If that was what they have in store then this will be an early exit.  If they can show what they have the past month or so then they will do well.

Chamionship is there for the taking.  No clear head and shoulders winners.

I would like to see Brooklyn advance but I really want to see Embiid go far too.

I forgot which one of you it was or maybe a few.  I had mentioned Alex Caruso was a big missing factor for the Lakers and a big success for the Bulls.

He’s going to be an all NBA 1st team defender this year.  All the announcers did was rave about him.

This is what I saw from him on the Lakers and what they are still desperately in need of.
  • PoncierPoncier Posts: 16,796
    It was definitely me.
And those announcers were licking his taint last night for sure. Sounded like he paid them to talk about him.
He won't be first team all D. Maybe 2nd.
He's a 6 PPG guy. Your argument last year was he was what was missing from a 33-49 Lakers team that missed the play in tourney and would have made them a contender. Pure hogwash. He might have made them the 10 seed instead of the 11.
He's a nice piece. If he's your 7th or 8th best player, you probably have something. If he's in your top 5 or higher, you are a middler like the Bulls are or bottom feeder if he's more than you're 5th best player.
