I tuned into the Mitchell game after the Sixers. Crazy performance out of him...including getting his own foul shot rebound and sending them to OT.
still taking ben simmons over donovan?
Hindsight is 20/20. But if Ben devoted even a little bit of effort into developing his game, his upside was waaay higher than that of a scorer who plays no defense. With that said, he was still the best rookie in 2018. Funny how they're both on different teams now though.
NBA, please bring back defense of some sort... Steals and fast breaks are fun, 3pointers are not anymore. I do like when Curry drains them from the icon but not everyone can do that consistently.

Bring on the D.
And that was a relatively low, or normal, scoring game until the second half.

Glad you mentioned that.
In the past 8 years or so I have watched teams give up if a lead was too insurmountable. If the 3's are raining down from the other side and not falling for their side the demeanor changes quick and the 2nd half can get even worse.
There is no "come backs" I guess from teams? You see the occasional 20pt comebacks from teams but those are the good ones and exceptions.

I'm a Sixers fan and they always blow leads so I'm not sure about that. lol But I don't feel like the 3 pointer has changed things in that regard. If anything it makes it easier for teams to come back. It is a game of runs, after all.
Both benches were over 40 points in the 4th quarter. It was crazy.

You haven't seen teams give up though? I've seen it in the playoffs and finals.
If someone keeps hitting 3's and the other team either doesn't make them or gets 2 that can be a big run of points in a short period of time.
The Mavs I know live and die by the 3. Luka gets his but if his team isn't hitting then look out.

Maybe so, but with the rules and with the court being a little smaller helps the D. That, and the NBA has a lot more talented players that are gonna score regardless of how good the D is. Plus, the 40 minute game compared to the 48 minute NBA game keeps score lower.
Let me throw this out here for fun: How does a player like Shane Larkin only scored about 5.5 points/game in his NBA career but averages 15 points/game in his Europe career?>HA

They actually give him a shot to score where in the NBA he is only the bench or #3 option.
or how did Toni Kucoc average 20ppg in Europe and only average 13 here?

Must've been a reason Larkin was on the Bench?(Not good enough to be in the NBA?)
As far as Kucoc: some players named Jordan & Pippen>LOL but the D was rough in the 90's in the NBA(as you know).

Well there is no damn D here in the US so if he can score over there he must be trying harder.

Looking back at 90's scoring leaders Tom friggin Chambers averaged 27 one year. Holy Moses.
