Actually the NBA in order to declare a 2020 champ ran a virtual history of the NBA playoffs from the league's entire existence and the result of course based on historical data was the Boston Celtics beat the Los Angeles Lakers in the finals.

That's easy. 90's. All 5 of those players played D. Only one really Big man in Hakeem and he could defend perimeter if he had to.
All those players had a team mentality along with a killer one.
The 10's could shoot all day but wouldn't be able to defend a lick.
The 80's guys can shoot and play D but the tenacity of the 90's they would lose.
70's they are just starting to become of their own. You take anyone of them and do a crossover and they would be toast even if Pistol Pete was doing it.
The 60's are too long and would get killed by outside shooting.
Love 80s basketball. Grew up at the Spectrum with Dr J and Barkley but i may go with the 00s beating the 90s for the title.
AI passed when he was surrounded by talent, so im not worried about that aspect. Stockton would still make things happen. Their strengths would both be highlighted here. Even Stockton’s defense could only stop AI so much.
Barkley couldnt guard anyone when he was in his prime in 1990, so he’s not stopping a late 2000s Lebron. MJ and Kobe would defend eachother into awful shooting games. Mike would adjust and find ways to contribute.
Prime Shaq and prime Olajuwon would be a treat. And the greatest PF ever (Duncan) vs the 2nd greatest would be interesting. Not a Lebron fan but he’s the difference maker here. 90s win the rebounding battle but the 00s get a 2 point win.
I posed the question to some of my friends who are old enough to have seen all of those decades. 2 said the 60's with one saying the 60's and it wouldn't be close. One guy has to be around 70 or so and my good friend is 80. One also pointed out by which rules would the game be played? (Obviously no 3-point line in the 60's and basically all of the 70's) How would the 60's do playing with their rules at the time?

Obviously very tough to compare eras. I'd eliminate the 10's right away because of the aforementioned lack of D. If all these guys grew up in the same time period with the same training facilities etc. available, I'd probably go with the 60's just cause Wilt's physical domination combined with Russell's sheer will to win would be hard to overcome. One of the key things I think to consider, more than pure talent, is that will to win/killer instinct. I'd say Jordan tops that list, followed closely by Bird, Kobe, Russell, Magic and Thomas. Based on that metric, the 80's would win, cause that is a team loaded with guys who'd rather decapitate you than give you a layup.

I was strongly considering the 80's but I think 90's and Jordan on the team that all ends. Plus I'll never forget listening to Magic talk about the Dream Team and Jordan being the "new sheriff in town" and that he was just head and shoulders above anyone else.
