BIG OL SPANK. And if that was a roll over to win game 5 at home better not wake up and it’s game 7. Not a fan of the “let’s win it all at home” mentality. Would rather be planning a parade. Fuckers.
Seemed as inevitable as UCONN winning the NCAA tournament.

If Dallas had a wee bit more help it's a different story.
Porzingas helped but he wasn't the xfactor that some of the pundits make him out to be.
I've always said that if Luka had more help he could win a chip. This is proof of that and like we've mentioned, needs better conditioning.
Congrats to Boston though. They turned it up. I was waiting for them to disappoint me again but they did not. Good for them. Tatum gets to be mentioned with the elite now.
Boston really did gel this year. Would like to see them make another run.

The wee bit more help Dallas needs is like 3 more good players. I suspect we don't see them sniff the finals again any time soon without a big overhaul to help Luka, as well as a dietician to help Luka.

last few years before Kyrie i said he needed help. He got Kyrie and that helped big time. Got him to a finals. I wouldn't have believed it though...
It wouldn't be a big overhaul. They were playing great defense up until the finals. There the wheels fell off.
Maybe a few players like lively? He seemed to play well but eventually everyone seemed outmatched.
I agree they need more depth but not a complete overhaul.
EDIT: Adding I totally agree about Lukas diet and conditioning. Hopefully this propels him like Jordan to get stronger and better.
Lively played well at home and terrible in Boston in the finals. Basically, played like a rookie.
In 3 games in Boston, he scored 2 points, 2 points and 2 points. 2 games in Dallas he scored 11 with 13 Rebs and 11 with 12 rebs. I think he has a future as a serviceable player in the league. he'll help.
But I don't see pieces like Gafford, Washington and Kleiber as reliable cornerstones. Plus let's face it. They ain't getting a well behaved, effective on the floor Kyrie again next year or beyond. Something will happen with that dude. This was his absolute ceiling at this point in his career. And he was a puddle in the 3 games in Boston.
Congrats! Was that considered a gentleman's sweep?

I liked Lively and yes, he played like a rookie. Would love to have 3 more of him though. They can grow still.
I want you to be wrong about Kyrie. If he did change then this team can make it back but, I think you will be right.
where’s Markell these days? never did like that pick.

fuck danny ainge.
He traded the corpses of Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett to the Nets for 3 straight unprotected 1st rounders ( 1 via unprotected pick swap), resulted in 3rd overall pick (Jaylen Brown) in 2016, 1st overall pick (traded to Phllly for #3 and a 2018 1st rounder then drafted Tatum) in 2017 and #8 overall in 2018 (Traded to Cleveland for Kyrie, pick became Jazz legend Colin Sexton). Now the Kyrie trade didn't work out, that's on Kyrie not Ainge. The team he assembled in 2017-18 was loaded for bear: Kyrie, Al Horford, Gordon Hayward (in his prime), Brown in 2nd year, Tatum as a rookie, bench players like Marcus Morris, Marcus Smart, Aron Baynes, Terry Rozier and Daniel Theis. It went to shit 5 minutes into the season when Hayward snapped his leg. Then Kyrie ended up hurt and missing the playoffs, and the Celtics still pushed Lebron's Cavs to 7 games in the conference finals. The next season Kyrie checked out mentally (I still think I can pinpoint the exact moment, when they were inbounding for a buzzer beater against Orlando and Stevens drew up the play for Tatum and Kyrie just stood at midcourt) and the disfunction ended up causing Horford to also leave.
But to say Ainge was a blind squirrel is uninformed. He assembled a roster that could have won multiple titles, but injury and mental midgetness (Kyrie) unraveled the whole thing in 2 seasons time.
In subsequent seasons he was definitely guilty of hording assets and not trading some draft picks when deals were available, something Brad Stevens has not had any issue with since taking over. But Ainge had a hell of a run, let's not forget he also brought Garnett and Ray Allen in the same off season culminating in a title and again should have been maybe 2-3 if not for injury (Garnett in 2009, Perkins in 2010)
^^^ well, he sure got stupid once he came back to Utah.
