Poll--The Weakest Link: Lynyrd Skynyrd's 'Second Helping' 3-Way Finals

With a three way elimination in Round 2, we will move on to a 3-WAY FINALS to determine the GREATEST song on Lynyrd Skynyrd's album 'Second Helping'.
Eliminated Round 1 - I Need You, Swamp Music
Eliminated Round 2 - Working For MCA, The Ballad Of Curtis Loew, and Sweet Home Alabama (Total votes were the same for both Ballad & SHA)

Rules for the 3-way Championship are different:
The first two songs with double figure votes as the "Weakest Link" will be eliminated and the one remaining will be crowned CHAMPION.
 - Remember you are voting to eliminate songs from contention.

Lets have fun with this. Remember debating and discussing why your right and others are wrong is always fun.

    I agree - Curtis was the best damn picker and he's gone.

    Yeah, I love “The Ballad of Curtis Loew.” Always have. Nothing too flashy (see “Don’t Ask Me No Questions,” “Call Me the Breeze”). Just a very simple song and a great ballad.

    I just can’t vote against the killer sludgy groove and badass guitar solo in “The Needle and the Spoon.”

    Love the guitar solo but the chorus, especially the spo-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooooh-ooh-ohuuun (may have missed an ooh-ooh), bogs it down.

    Growing up I mustuv heard Don't Ask Me No Questions too many times on FM radio and/or late night juke boxes at Waffle House. Good song, but the thrill is gone.

    Favos on the album: Curtis Loew and The Breeze. Skynyrd does a terrific job of putting their own stamp on The Breeze, but it's still J.J. Cale's song. Like @tbergs said, it's an odd final. #curtisgotrobbed :wink:

    Meh, I guess I could see changing my vote to Don't Ask Me, but with the options left, I would give the edge to The Breeze. I still feel that Spoon has the inferior guitar part to Sweet Home, which is why I had been voting against it, but whatever, it's all good.

    Yeah, while I might disagree with you, I do think it got the "Stairway to Heaven" treatment (i.e., people just tired of hearing it) -- it just got it a little earlier.

    Sweet Home is middle of the pack though it should probably be in the final and Stairway was robbed.

    The best part about this poll, knowing that this album is not one I frequently listen(ed) to, was that it not only got me to play it 3-4 times but I also played a lot of other Skynard that I do not play frequently enough.  Enjoyable!

    Haha, yea but I do believe that Breeze is a much better song than spoon. But I can't wait to see the reaction on the next album selection.

    Call Me The Breeze
    Out of all the popular Skynyrd songs, I’ve never understood the love for Breeze. It’s not even a JJ Cale thing. The guitar sound is cheesy and it’s a boring arrangement. Far as their covers go, I prefer Crossroads. 

    Short of I Know A Little and maybe All I Can Do Is Write About It, Needle is the unsung hero of the entire Skynyrd catalog.
