The Best Albums of the 90's

He's definitely a better singer imo. One of the wonders of the world to me is that people can denigrate Eddie Vedder's voice (which I think is truly excellent) and then listen to a Dave Matthews record. I find his voice insufferable and his lyrics (the "rascal" line from "Crash..Into Me" for one example) equally cringe-worthy.

I was really big into DMB in the 90s, not sure how I forgot to put them on my list. I honestly haven't listened to them since the 90's though. Would like to catch them live at some point.

tbergs said:Has anyone listed a country artist yet? I don't really like that genre anymore, but I figured someone would have mentioned Garth, Shania, Tim McGraw, Reba or The Dixie Chicks by now. I grew up on oldies and country until about 1991 and then everything changed when I finally was exposed to rock music.
Johnny Cash- American Recordingsa freaking classic!!!

I listed that one along with Emmylou's Wrecking Ball and Dwight Yoakam's This Time and maybe one or two others. Fact is country went to shit with the emergence of Garth, Shania, et al. Reba's best stuff was in the '80s.lolobugg said:tbergs said:Has anyone listed a country artist yet? I recall that the only kinda good part of their show to see was the violinist... and I believe he recently got #metoo'd and left the band.HesCalledDyer said:I was really big into DMB in the 90s, not sure how I forgot to put them on my list. But even Dwight Yoakam's stinkers are enjoyable. He's country music's version of Kurt Vonnegut.
