He is like Bon Jovi and Nickelback, sells some records but not many will really admit to being a fan.

    C'mon man.

I know you like being oppositional, but this is going too far. And to boot... you tossed Metallica in the same 'irrelevant' category.

    Enough of the silliness.
C'mon, Metallica??? That is a whole 'nother thread. Has beens.

This is you in this thread:

    Hahahahahahaha

    It's funny because it's true.

  • I like Unsung but I'm not sure I go for the "without being a PJ fan" we wouldn't hear of Bruce anymore. First, I think Bruce gets 10x the publicity Pearl Jam gets. Even when our band just puts out a record. Bruce is an American icon when it comes to music.
Second, aside from "Working on a Dream" and "High Hopes" (A bsides record), everything he's put out has been timeless. In fact, "Magic" from 2005(?) and "Wrecking Ball"(2012?) are timeless masterpieces right there with his earlier work. "Magic" is one of my picks for most underrated albums of the 2000's. The guy still has it. The fact that he is still selling out stadiums all over the world after forty years of being outspoken politically shows that he will get through this squeaky clean and unscathed.

You seem to have it all wrong.

But feel free to move the goalposts again or keep that "Artist X hasn't been relevant since the 80's" thing going.

I will be getting rid of his vinyl records in my collection - more like banned in the USA!!!

    http://insider.foxnews.com/2017/02/03/bruce-springsteen-australia-concert-embarrassed-americans-dont-hang

I wish to revisit Scruffy's point:

Bruce says he's an 'embarrassed' American speaking to a crowd in Australia.

Buck denounces America and moves to Europe because things aren't the way he likes in America.

    Who's unpatriotic?
    exactly! the hypocrisy is amazing!

ah just enjoy the music, many musicians as they grow older lose that passion and forget what made their music so attractive. he can now afford to lose a few that share your opinion. what happened to rebel rock anyway? have I grown older and out of touch also?

Nor did I ever claim it was a beacon of freedom. And really? Those states are an improvement? Well, I guess for you they might be. Just don't move next door to any undocumented or unregistered fertilizer warehouses. And why would I have any real interest in where you live? Other than I find it interesting to learn where someone who constantly rails against the boot on their neck thinks they might finally be free?

I know you like being oppositional, but this is going too far. And to boot... you tossed Metallica in the same 'irrelevant' category.

    Enough of the silliness.
picking up metallicas new record today. atlas rise(?) the first single fucking rocks.
    OMG. You can't be serious.

Nobody has used Metallica and fucking rocks in the same sentence since Justice.
Are you really even a PJ fan?

He is like Bon Jovi and Nickelback, sells some records but not many will really admit to being a fan.

    LIke this?

    that's fantastic! hahaha!

and by the way, I agree with @mickeyrat . The new Metallica album is fucking great.
    I LOVE MUSIC.
