Unofficial "Traveling to Mexico City" plans & discussion (11/28/15)

Hey all, I got tickets to "General Admission A" for the PJ Mexico City show on 11/28/15.
I will be traveling from Los Angeles, CA on the 26th. No firm hotel plans yet (My GF likes to stay at nice places so we are thinking the St. Regis, but would love to know if there is an unofficial "PJ hotel" where people are staying).
I want to get to Foro Sol as early as possible to try and get a spot on the rail upfront.
How early would you guess one would have to go to get a spot right up front?
Also, does anyone have any idea how early they start letting people into the stadium?

I would also love to get there early to buy some of the awesome "bootleg" merchandise people sell outside (I went to see them in Mexico City in 2011 and people were selling some awesome stuff!)
Would also be fun to plan a group meetup with other Americans and English speakers!
Other questions:
-Where are you coming from?
-Where are your seats?
-When are you arriving?
-What are your pre-party plans?
-Where are you staying?
Thanks!

In the Mexico City show of 2011 I arrived around 1 PM to the Foro Sol. I think the doors opened at around 3 PM, and I got a spot on the rail upfront, right in front of Mike McCready. This time I want to be in front of Eddie so I plan to arrive to the venue at 11 AM.

And the concert started at 8ish? That's very early for doors to open.

Maybe it was later, an article I found says the doors opened at 6 PM.

Thanks for the info! So was there a line to get into the stadium at 1pm? Also, how did you get there? Taxi? Thanks again.

Indeed, there was already a line at that time, not huge though. I arrived by car,but note that I live in Mexico City.

I'm reading that the Riazor hotel is where most fans will be staying. From there the best way is by taxi, it's not very far from the stadium.

Have a great time in Mexico!

Thank you. Last question: Was the line waiting to get inside an actual organized line, or just a crowd? And what was it like when the gates opened? Was it a mad rush to the front? I just want to be as prepared as possible! Thanks!

It was an actual line. The organizers began to separate people by groups.

I was in the second group and when the doors opened I ran to the front, but not everybody did so.

    It was relatively calm.

For the 2013 and 2014 shows, PJ security made it clear that anyone running would be sent to the end of the line.

It seems EVERYONE is staying there!

I booked at Mini Suites Hotel a couple of days after the presale and then saw the only place mentioned here seemed to be the Riazor. Sounds like a lot of fun with that many fans!

Anyone knows what kind of place the Mini Suites is? The local fans maybe??

    Cheers!

Booked the Hilton at the Airport. Not sure its the best choice as it may be difficult to get back there after the show. Does Mexico City have Uber?
I know I was born and I know that I'll die. The in between is mine.

I had no idea about Uber, but I checked their website and the city is at least listed there.

Coming in from Los Angeles. My wife just came back from Mexico City for work and got us some tickets for the show. She usually stays at the st.regis but will stay at the Sheraton as well. Getting there the 27th, hablamos espanol.
