if one person's views or beliefs are not the .."norm" here why are their ideas and post's met with so much anger and hate ? I and a few others have had replys to our posts that show a sign of the same "fear' AND "hate" that we are accused of,any thoughts on that ?

It's not the message, it's the method. You, of all people, need to learn that. That's my "thought on that".
I love a good debate. You do not post in a way that enables discussion. I can't tell if you purposefully try to piss everyone off who have different viewpoints than you, or if you just don't know how to engage people in a good debate...and frankly I don't care. There's a reason people seem to lash out at you: You don't give them much to work with. You are condescending and mean-spirited, and then you act defensive when people call you out.
And you're acting like you're a victim now? Please.

very cool, but why resort to names like jackass ? or gun nuts ?.......guns don't have nuts but really my whole thought on this topic is that people that denounce violance often use to get a point across or to let the OP or others know that thay are angery or in disagreement....we all have done it so why is it necessary for some to call the kettle black ? I'm not judging anybody as I said "we all have done it" I'm just pointing out what I have noticed on this moving train.
Godfather.
Life is 10% of what happens and 90% of the reaction to what happens. It's up to you, how you react.
I gotta say it.........awesome friggin post !

I think there is quite a large range of attitudes and beliefs that are acceptable and respected here.
Some attitudes and beliefs are so extreme in a destructive way that people become intolerant to them. For example, when someone suggests that a religion is a religion based on sex... they are going to face criticism for posting such nonsense.
One cannot expect people to respect an idea that is ill-conceived and poorly supported.
I have learned on here that if you have an idea that is opposed to the majority's belief system... then you had better present it with a degree of thought behind it. I argue passionately for the death penalty and this seems to be in contrast to what most on here believe. Outside of a couple Byrnzie assaults ( ), this community has been reasonable allowing for discussion to occur.
On a personal note... I think there is a quality human being contained within that mass of skin, muscle and bone that you see looking at you in the mirror.
There is no question that you have presented yourself, at times, in a manner that isn't exactly endearing to some others; but I have seen some of the- if I could be so bold to call them this- 'rough edges' begin to erode.
I certainly wouldn't want you to abandon your core values, but I do feel that moving from some 'extreme' positions to a more 'balanced' position would be better for you.
Of course... feel free to take this message and tell me to stuff myself with it!
Note: I was going to cut and paste to a pm and maybe I should have. It's just that this thread seems to be a bit personal and in the public setting. There have been criticisms levied and I think this serves as something not so critical.
Is it that some people here express hatred toward others or is it that some people express hatred toward certain views? For example, I hate it that some people think fracking and driving huge SUV's is just fine but I don't necessarily hate that person. I have a friend I saw just last night who said those very words and I hate that she feels that way but I don't hate her.
An interesting side note: one of the major forum rules states:
Discuss the topic, not the people discussing the topic. No personal comments.
That's a bit of a conundrum for a topic such as the present one.
Why thank you but the comment is aimed towards everyone, including the OP of this thread.
I wonder what it is about gay rights, homophobia and the color of a person's skin (Duck Dynasty) that makes people react so full of hating words. Whatever, people need to get over themselves and their hate issues.

"Well, you tell him that I don't talk to suckas."
It depends on what the topic is and what the viewpoint is, sir.
Example... if the 'norm' is to believe that all people have the right to live and the lone opposition view is that only a select group of people, those whom are like the one expressing the opinion, should have that right... you should expect to be on the receiving end of a ton of disagreements... some of those rebuttals being hostile in nature.
Another example... if the 'norm' is to believe that the Moon is a barren wasteland that is incapable of supporting life... but, your view is that the President is being controlled by a race of beings that live on the dark side of the Moon in order to prevent the course of the United State from fulfilling its true destiny... reverting to the society of 1952, then, again... you should expect a ton of disagreements, most of which question your intelligence and/or sanity.
...
So... to avoid these types of reactions from the 'norm'... which the definition of the 'norm' being; "From NORMAL people"... I would suggest that the person who feels targeted should form his opinion in fact and truth. Mostly because normal people of the 'norm' understand it is difficult to argue with fact and impossible to argue with truth.
...
Merry Christmas, sir.
Hail, Hail!!!
I will agree that I don't "post in a way that enables discussion".....but I don't believe I'm "mean spirited".....stand tall behind my beliefs and opinion yeah...I have said before to someone else on here that if we had ever met you might think differently,I normally will not argue politics or faith with someone I meet or don't know well ..in fact I keep a small circle of friends/Brothers and sense we all agree on most issues there is no argument
and I can tell you for certin I will never be a victim and don't claim to be,I was just pointing out some thing's and trying not to use other people to make a point.
Godfather.
Only thing that will stop a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun.
Fact and truth
If a bad guy didn't have a gun he wouldn't need to be stopped by a good guy with a gun.
USA has a second amendment
And this is a reaction that is full of hate. You must hate yourself, sir. WHY?
Does that apply to the Crip gang member that kills a Blood gang member and prevents him from killing his Crip gang member buddy? If what you say truly is truth... He's a good guy, right?
Hail, Hail!!!
agreed Cosmo but I have to tell you that in most or some cases here on the train "facts" are more a matter of opinion, just for the sake of argument most on here believe that there is life in another universe outside ours, well intll someone shows me otherwise I'm not believing it, and this goes for other issues talked about on the train...some agree some don't .
Godfather.
I don't think you're mean spirited, but you do post garbage from Fox News as credible news stories sometimes. If we want to talk fact, get away from the Fox frame of mind and actually cite more truthful sources.
I have always said we can learn something from everybody we meet and I try., and no hard feeling man (no need to stuff it)
Godfather.
You retracted your 'kill 'em all' comment. You have been doing a lot of retracting the last couple of days- speaking out of anger and thinking better of it.
On this note, I wish to apologize for my you're part of the problem comment in an earlier exchange. I didn't really care for the undertones of the message I took exception to, but the comment I expressed took the conversation to a level it really didn't need to go to.
Regarding this:
"I have to tell you that in most or some cases here on the train "facts" are more a matter of opinion"
Opinions based in fact. Meaning what you say is based in fact or truth, not feeling.. or belief. For example, the truth is that 1 + 1 = 2. You may believe in your heart of hearts that 1 + 1 = 11... but, your belief has no impact on the fact that 1 + 1 = 2.
...
Regarding this:
"Just for the sake of argument, most on here believe that there is life in another universe outside ours, well intll someone shows me otherwise I'm not believing it."
This is a case of belief vs. belief because you cannot prove that one side is true, based upon known facts. That is how the God discussions turn out... neither side can prove, using facts, that God exists... or God does not exist. Truth and fact support neither side, so it is all just personal opinion, based upon feeling or belief.
Hail, Hail!!!
but but...it's "fair and ballanced"
I just enjoy FOX news and I also enjoy CNN and S.D local news to me no news source is 100% with the facts.
Godfather.
Also... if what you say is true... then the sniper who kills an armed, uniformed soldier from a foriegn country who is trying to impose the will of that foriegn nation upon his (the sniper's) homeland... the sniper is the good guy... a hero, right?
Hail, Hail!!!
