it's no secrete that social media is watched most of the time and yet people do stupid crap like this....

Godfather.

(CNN) -- Note to self: When soliciting for drugs on Twitter, try a direct message.

Facing another boring day at work, a Toronto car repair shop worker decided some weed would be just the thing to make the day fly by.

Instead of reaching out by phone or walking to his friendly neighborhood drug dealer, the user, using the handle @Sunith_DB8R, tweeted that he needed a joint delivered to his workplace in Vaughan, just north of Toronto.

The York Regional Police, @YRP, caught a whiff of the request and enthusiastically -- perhaps too enthusiastically -- responded with, "Awesome! Can we come too?"

Awesome! Can we come too? MT @Sunith_DB8R Any dealers in Vaughan wanna make a 20sac chop? Come to Keele/Langstaff Mr. Lube, need a spliff.

are the weed laws in Canada very different from the US laws ? it won't be long before it's legalized in the states I think.

Thanks for the morning grin. Some day that could be legal but not now.

Isn't there a show or something about goofy criminal videos too? This would go well with that.

i am wondering what the cost was to the york police department for nailing a guy on a couple grams of pot? i bet the dude did not lose his job; is that the york police department's goal?

anymore when law enforcement bust someone on a small (or large) personal amount of marijuana, they themselves, the police officers, look totally naive, nazi like & completely controlled by their small minds & very weak souls which are powered up by the great man of men, the bizarre government

you know how many folks are now going to taunt law enforcement online by placing bullshit totally fake heroin & crack requests? many are going to make a game out of this. they will sit back & watch it all unfold. this is how i see it

Come on. You`re being a little rough on us Canadians and our police forces. :D

Our cops generally sit around twiddling their thumbs. They are dying to do some police work. There are two factors that keep our bad guys from being bad and consequently, our police forces bored:

    1. No guns.
    2. Liquor is really expensive (12 beer is $19... a cheap bottle of wine is $14).

Now that I type this though... sorry, Hugh... Winnipeg seems to have something figured out though? I guess if guys wish to post on twitter that they need a joint to smoke... they should do so in Winnipeg. Cops there are busy like normal cops.

As far as I know, they did not "nail" him, they just made a sarcastic tweet. So the cost was whatever it cost for 30 seconds of a desk jockey's time to type it.

still illegal here godfather ... we are not really that close to legalizing it ... the leader of our official opposition Justin Trudeau has stated if elected Prime Minister he'd legalize it ... but that would not be till after the 2015 election and election promises are sometime broken :lol::lol:.

I do agree that this would be a big waste of the cops' time.... which is why it should at least be decriminalized. It will happen soon enough I think. It would happened already if we weren't governed by the Conservatives, who are total ass wipes lead by the king of all ass wipes. But I bet the guy did get fired. If I did that and my boss saw, I'd get in so much shit, and would very likely be fired, and I'm in a union. They don't care what I do in my free time, but that is way over the line. It is so fucking stupid to tweet that you want weed delivered to your office, I actually immediately assumed that the guy was trying to get fired. :fp:

He did get fired...probably not only for stupidity, but for naming the company in that tweet.

    From the updated article:

"Just got the call of termination," tweeted the worker later that afternoon. Make that, the ex-worker.

Canadian broadcaster CTV reached out to the manager of the repair shop, who said "there was an employee here by that name; he no longer works for us."

The York Regional Police explained in a later tweet, "If you shouted on a busy street corner about illegal activity & we drove by, we'd intervene. Think of Twitter as a virtual street corner."

if Canada legalizes it in 2015 it would make sense for the us to do the same otherwise there will be another point of entry for smugglers......or a load of new Canadians in 2015

Legalizing it in 2015 would only happen if the Liberal leader wins the election and doesn't break his promise ... as of now the Conservative are in power and have no intention of legalizing it ... now the Liberals in the past when they held power said they would decriminalize it and they never followed through ... so sometimes election promises do get broken :lol::lol: ... it will eventually be legal North American wide, just when is anybodies guess.
