Burma 1994 - dude had 20,000 in his army
opium/heroin of the world

how can a country tell another country what they can, cannot grow & harvest? Khum Sa died in October 2007. so I wonder who is in charge today? like it or not the world needs opium, heroin, etc. Khun Sa ran the golden triangle (which involves several countries, Burma, Vietnam, Laos, & Thailand. it is not to be confused with the golden crescent; which is, Iran, Pakistan, & Afghanistan.)

gotta love triangles. for example, ever been to the emerald triangle? northern California (a marijuana growers paradise.) got a hat from there when i visited...

So much fuss over the beautiful poppy plant. I've always said, if opium and heroin were legal and consistent in quality and concentration there would far fewer deaths including that of the son of a family friend just this last week. It's an important plant and, if used properly, has great benefits (and I'm not talking about abuse). Besides, if all abused substances were outlawed there would be no alcohol, weed, tobacco, sugar, caffeine, salt, etc., etc.

If we want to reduce substance abuse, I would recommend, good education, counseling, reaching out to others, acceptance, tolerance, love, a healthier environment, sexual freedom and liberation and creative outlets over banning any substance.
“The fear of death follows from the fear of life. A man [or woman] who lives fully is prepared to die at any time.” Variously credited to Mark Twain or Edward Abbey.

Yep, the CIA has been dealing in drugs for years

Smuggling for funds to arm the KMT to fight Mao, supporting drug trafficking Contras, laundering heroin money to support the mujahideen...

    Makes me sick
