The crowd was out of their mother fucking minds at that show. And they still haven't come back... :nono:

I love how Corduroy was played at all those 2000 shows. Especially the McCready solo at the end. Something else...

Absolutely agreed - that sound he captured on Corduroy on this tour for that solo is something else. Also love how the guitar lead intro is a more subtle and subdued during this tour (sounds more like the album version), and not so high tempo and fast as it's usually played now.

People who thought the Jones Beach shows are great are crazy.
I went to all three- Night 2 was okay...
The ocean and wind eats up all the sound....
Maybe the recordings sound good, but being at the shows I was underwhelmed...

I checked them out - thought they had great energy. Not a favorite yet.

    All great choices.

Here's two more. San Diego and, of course, Las Vegas. Why? Why not?

The boots sound great though! I'm relistening to night 3 today. Mike is currently kicking some *** on Red Mosquito. Beautiful In Hiding next.

I give up trying to find a favorite. I surrender. I just love them all.

Pittsburgh 2000. Post Gazette Pavilion. To start with 'Sonic Youth' were on fire that night. They really got the crowd goin before PJ even took to the stage. The Band kicked off the setlist with Evenflow, I haven't seen this as an opener anywhere else, and the place went crazy. The level of intensity kept building as the night went on. The band invited the girl with the 'Wash' umbrella onto the stage and played her favorite PJ song while she sat there in awe. Shortly after they played 'Crazy Mary', 'I got You' and Ed explained, it was the last night of the first leg of the North American tour, "that normally it's not the last night that's the best usually it's the 2nd to last night but tonight has been different. No need to save the voice for tomorrow, no need to save the fingers for tomorrow...but fuck the talking let's start Rockin" And they sure did. Ending with the best version of Baba O'Reilly Ive heard them do. Been trying, unsuccessfully, to play Mike's guitar part from that night for 12 years now. It's the best concert I've been to even to this day. Last Exit, and RVM, were super intense. Stone sang Mankind and the place went crazy. It was a special night for the band and fans. Like the old cliche, I guess you would've had to been there. I'm pretty sure the girl with the umbrella was named Amy. This night showed me that music can fuck you up better than any other drug I'd ever taken. Been chasin that same high ever since. I'm gettin pumped just remembering. I'll be playing this show on the Denon after work.

Update: Just checked the setlist and they played Crazy Mary just before inviting Amy on stage to play Wash. Also, I'd forgotten how awesome Insignificance was that night(Best version I've heard).

For me 2000 is their best sounding boots. Pittsburgh is def my favorite, but Barcelona and Milan come to mind as being exceptional. I loved Mike's EvenFlow solo throughout the 2000 tour. I can never seem to get it out of my head when hearing that song. All the Binaural songs from the bootlegs are great. Plus, Matt on drums, I mean what can you say about that guy. Is he human? I think maybe he's some type of robot or automaton. The first time I saw him playing drums on Given to Fly I just freaked.
