sure, sure. it's funny.
I would be less concerned about the allegation that he is an african muslim, than i am about the fact and nature of the poltical class and groups he represents, the too-big-to-fail banks that bankrolled the fuck out of his first run for office, and the cloistered interests he *really* works for. *Maybe* they mean well, but they play a dangerous game.[/quote]

Sorry... please check again. The U.S. Coast Guard as well as the U.S. Secret Service fall under the umbrella of the Dept. of Homeland Security. And don't forget the U.S. Border Patrol. All of those agencies already have access to military weapons (check out the .50 cal at the bow of Coast Guard interceptors).

The U.S. Secret Service are armed with H&K MP5s
and FN P90s
Here is part of the U.S. Border Patrol's arsenal:
"Border Patrol Agents also commonly carry the .223 caliber M4 Carbine and the H&K UMP .40 caliber submachine gun. The .308 caliber M14 rifle is used for mostly ceremonial purposes and by BORTAC in special situations."

In case you are wondering... this is an M4 Carbine:
This is an H&K UMP:

I understand the desire to spread irrational fear that the TSA agents at the airport will now be armed with M-16s and strip searching us at gunpoint... but, sorry, that is not the case. Just because you want to pretend something is true, doesn't mean it's true.

The writing is on the wall and has been for awhile......there are people on here that do not see America as unique that makes us better than other Governments out there......yet if we are not unique that means we can fall like the other governments out there....So I do not understand that you can find it so hard to believe that this country COULD be taken over.......
Why is this administration stocking up on hollow point bullets that have been “illegal in international warfare since 1899.”
one has to wonder if we aren't approaching the well-trained paramilitary national police force mentioned by Obama?
Jan. 1, 2012 Congress declared America a battlefield with the passage of the NDAA 2012.
In a battlefield you have no rights. The government stepped across the line of departure with that act, 96 senators voted for the “battlefield” designation.
The National Defense Authorization Act, or S. 1867, isn’t a slap in the face to our Constitution – it’s the killing blow.
The bill’s text, in its infinite vagaries and self-contradictions, subtly allows the government to arrest American citizens on American soil and hold them indefinitely and without trial or any form of due process – all on the pretense of being an amorphously-defined “enemy combatant”. Authored by Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz) and Sen. Carl Levin (D-Mich), the bill was passed in the Senate 93-7 on Dec. 1st without amendment.
a prudent person should wonder if something nefarious is afoot.“We the people are the rightful masters of both Congress and the courts, not to overthrow the Constitution but to overthrow the men who pervert the Constitution.” Abraham Lincoln0 -

The Hague Convention of 1899, Declaration III, prohibited the use in international warfare of bullets that easily expand or flatten in the body.[3] This is often incorrectly believed to be prohibited in the Geneva Conventions, but it significantly predates those conventions, and is in fact a continuance of the St. Petersburg Declaration of 1868, which banned exploding projectiles of less than 400 grams, as well as weapons designed to aggravate injured soldiers or make their death inevitable. NATO members do not use small arms ammunition that is prohibited by the Hague Convention.
Despite the ban on military use, hollow-point bullets are one of the most common types of civilian and police ammunition,[citation needed] due largely to the reduced risk of bystanders being hit by over-penetrating or ricocheted bullets, and the increased speed of incapacitation.
In many jurisdictions, even ones such as the United Kingdom, where expanding ammunition is generally prohibited, it is illegal to hunt certain types of game with ammunition that does not expand.[4][5] Some target ranges forbid full metal jacket ammunition, due to its greater tendency to damage metal targets and backstops.[6]"The really important thing is not to live, but to live well. And to live well meant, along with more enjoyable things in life, to live according to your principles."

Thanks, bigdvs. New info for me.
Odd again to see the blurb mention FMJ being prohibited at some firing ranges -- I've never been to one that allowed anything else, due to the risk of lead exposure in semi-jacketed rounds.0 -

Here's the official response on the ammo purchase.

Bottom line... if the Government wants to take your guns... WHICH THEY AREN'T... they can.
...
If you want to fend them off... you will need more than an AR-15 and 10,000 rounds of ammo. You will need some sort of anti-aircraft batteries or Stinger Misslies or something.
And if you are in possession of a Stinger Missile and NOT in the active military or its reserve on active duty... you seriously need to be taken out by the government because only fucking psychos personally own Stinger Missiles... and keep them int their homes.
And don't worry... the Government is not going to actually take your weapons 'from your cold, dead hands'... they are going to set the building you are in on fire and let you shoot yourself or burn in the flames.Allen Fieldhouse, home of the 2008 NCAA men's Basketball Champions! Go Jayhawks!

They have requested a shitload of bullets recently, for sure.
Training or not, whose to say.
I will say this...
I find it VERY hard to believe that SOCIAL SECURITY FRAUD INVESTIGATORS NEED HOLLOW POINT BULLETS?
Wtf???If I was to smile and I held out my hand

Off hand, does it state what the allotment and type of bullet (used for which type of weapon) are being distributed to the 295 Social Security agents?
I'm looking up the types of weapons these agents are issued.
Thanx.
Found this:
"As we said in a recent post, our office has criminal investigators, or special agents, who are responsible for investigating violations of the laws that govern SSA’s programs. Currently, about 295 special agents and supervisory special agents work in 66 offices across the United States. These investigators have full law enforcement authority, including executing search warrants and making arrests."
ref. http://oig.ssa.gov/newsroom/blog/2012/0 ... rocurement
The standard issue is (i believeto be) the Sig Sauer P229 .357. i'm not sure how you feel, but if I'm supposed to execute search warrants and make arrests... I want to be armed. You never know what's on the other side of that door, right?
Also, I'm pretty sure that the 295 agents are not each getting 54,237,289 bullets.Allen Fieldhouse, home of the 2008 NCAA men's Basketball Champions! Go Jayhawks!

Let's do the math:
"Dixon said one of the contracts would allow Homeland Security to buy up to 750 million rounds of ammunition over the next five years for its training facilities. The rounds are used for basic and advanced law enforcement training for federal law enforcement agencies under the department's umbrella. The facilities also offer firearms training to tens of thousands of federal law enforcement officers. More than 90 federal agencies and 70,000 agents and officers used the department's training center last year. "
Source: http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2013/02 ... y-bullets/
750,000,000 / 5 (years) = 150,000,000 bullets per year (total).
150,000,000 / 70,000 (agents) = 2,124 bullets per agent per year.
...
So, each agent gets an allotment of 2,124 rounds per year for their for trainning (target practice).
I know, that sounds like a lot... 2,000 rounds of ammo. But, consider the amount you would spend at the trainning center... if your job is law enforcement.
It comes out to 41.2 bullets per week (2,124 / 52 (weeks))... P229 have what... 10 round clips? 4 clips at the range if you go every week.
Now, I don't know about you... but, the times I've gone to the pistol range... 42 bullets go awfully fast. I suppose if I went every week... 42 rounds should be enough.
How many rounds to you pop off at the range?Allen Fieldhouse, home of the 2008 NCAA men's Basketball Champions! Go Jayhawks!
