May have to sell entire collection - UPDATE (No I won't)

So, long story short, I'm out of work. Christmas is coming so the market for IT jobs is slow, and it's not fair on my wife that we struggle through on her salary.

So, I may have to sell my entire collection, or at least start breaking it up.

Pretty much everything I have, other than posters, is listed here: http://www.discogs.com/collection?user= ... sip&page=1

And there's photos of most PJ/Foo Fighters/Nirvana stuff here, but this needs updating a little: http://s1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff452/darthlemsip/

So, advice needed - if I have to sell it, I'm going to have to break it all up to sell it aren't I? That means I'll actually have to buy in the stuff required to ship it all first. Any hope on me getting a one box sale (even if that's broken up by artist)?

  • What a collection! Truly heartbreaking... Good luck with everything!!!

My thought is that you have too much of each most of the big name artists to not break it up without really taking a hit on a package deal.

So sorry to hear that :( I'm with Jamminonthe1, your collection seems too extensive to make this a packaged deal. You might be able to bundle by artist, or have a few bundles? Just make sure you're not losing out too much by bundling together.

    Good luck with everything.

    Sorry to hear this.

  • Just a quick update.

First of all, thanks to everyone (and there were a lot of you!) that sent messages of support, offers of help, and those who registered an interest on what I have. There are too many of you for me to reply individually to all of you (though I did try!)

However, a bit of good news - I took my first forray into the world of IT contracting instead of looking for a permananet role, and I have a six month contract starting tomorrow and that will take me right up to our big US trip round Chicago and NY in May next year.

Can't tell you how much of a relief it is, had never been out of work in my adult life before and really didn't like it at all.

So thank you again everyone, and sorry (but not THAT sorry) my stuff won't be on the market.

    Cheers,

    Joe
