And still less than half the viewership of game 6 of the NBA Finals, even with NBA Finals ratings way down from last year due to Toronto being in there.

Does NBC still use the same garbage as the broadcast team...Because they use to suck real bad...
I don't recall who you mean, but the main NBC team is first rate. There's nothing more difficult than calling a hockey game. I think Emrick does a great job.

Mike Milbury, Keith Jones and Pierre McGuire completely suck...so glad McGuire is on NBC...Mike Emrick, I'm not a fan of...I think Sportsnet in Canada has nailed the broadcast...absolutely love Ron McClean, Kelly Hrudey and Nick Kypreos...Loved Bob Cole's Play by Play, now retired and was having a few senior moments (just like ALL future US Presidents). Jim Hughson. Favourite analyst Ray Ferraro...he is on TSN...
Watched the St. Louis parade. Larry Robinson who just got his 10th ring was asked which finger it would go on...he stuck out his middle finger and said this is for Boston...great to see the hall of fame hab defenceman still has hatred for the Bruins...love it.

I saw this on a news clip last night just as I started cutting up some onions, wouldn't ya know? Price is freakin awesome for doing all that for the kid!!
I remembered the first meeting between them...so I was really impressed when he helped arrange him coming to the awards and then a trip to the NHL all star. Pretty great of him.
Looks like I might be in Montreal in October when they host the Leafs. I'm assuming tickets aren't too hard to come by if you're willing to spend $150+, is that about right?

Some quiet before the storm, so to speak. The most interesting thing thusfar is the Subban deal, along with Hughes to the Devils.
Toronto making a little bit of elbowroom by dealing Marleau to Carolina, costing them a 1st for the cap space. Carolina buys Marleau out and he is likely heading West
Luongo retiring, which wasnt unexpected, but hits the Canucks and Panthers with 3 years of recapture penalties.
Haula traded to the Hurricanes for a scrub prospect, and a conditional pick. Another salary dump and a chance taken by Carolina on an injured player in his final year to UFA.
So now, we have the 'legal tampering period' between teams and the UFAs and RFAs. Speculation says there may be some offer sheet activity, which would be announced July 1st. Im thinking we could see some movement this weekend just before UFA, or, if not, just after UFA begins.
Guy Charbonneau is not a Hall of Fame level player in my opinion. surprised at that one
Yes, he is...hockey is not all about the stats...he was one of the top five two way players in the NHL during his career. Same as Gainy, stats do not put him in the hall alone...but add his ability to play both ends of the ice at a top 5 level put both them in the hall...

Agreed. He has 3 Selke trophies and 3 Cup rings, and has a trophy named after him in the Q for best defensive forward.

In your opinion, why isn't he?
never one of the best forwards in the game. never a top 10 player. did he ever play on a first line? very nice player, surely not a Hall of Famer. If you were never thought of one of the best at your position i just don't think you can be a Hall of Famer. if you start letting guys like him in is Rod Brind'amout a Hall of Famer?
hockey-reference.com does a similarity score for players whose career well are similar. here are the guys they compare Guy Carbonnneau too. None of these guys are close to a Hall of Famer. so Carbonneau is because he played for the Canadians?

On Friday, I read Toronto and Vancouver were interested, today I read Pittsburgh was in on it as well...

A somewhat harmless looking play turned into two consecutive bench clearing brawls
