Workman's Compensation of Alberta

WCB of Alberta, Canada, is a criminal organization. Period.
Why ? Because their employees are instructed to create false realities of injured workers by creating an image of the worker that does not actually exist, as they profit on the 'backs of the bruised', on top of wasting the years of those injured lives.
Did you know that the WCB of Alberta can't be sued ? Also, you can't file with the Alberta Human Rights Commission of Alberta as an injured worker if you are being treated like a disposable human carcass by the employees, doctors, medical consultants (claims to be a doctor who makes decisions about someone's life without ever meeting them, let alone examining them) and review processes of WCB. Even if your case manager has lied, in print, about what was said in a message your mother left for WCB on her answering machine (to give a simple example but believe me, it is more treacherous than one can imagine), and I'm actually hurt ... lol

F'in priceless man.

  • been navigating the minefield of NY state workers comp since 2000. To root out the phonies, they put those actually injured thru hell. And do so quite fraudulently. Check out this article on supposed "independent" medical exams. I had one a few years ago, the doctor hardly looked at me, didn;t touch me, and said he didn't need to look at the mRI's, CT scans and X-rays I brought. He then wrote a report stating I:
    had black hair (I'm blonde)

had a "well healed scar from shoulder surgery" even though i never took off my shirt, have 2 scars from the surgery, and can't find them myself since they're so small.

and was fine to return to work, even though I ha dalready been classified by my former employer as permanent disabled

Ugh fuck the tar sands and all those STUPID commercials paid for by oil companies to convince the brainless public who believes in their bullshit.

And on topic, I wasn't aware of what the Workmans Compensation of Alberta does, but it sounds like they screwed you or someone you know over royally!

Thanks for that for that article. I found out a few things I didn't know.
I attended an I.M.E. (Independent Medical Examination) last December 2010. I had a plate and 8 screws put into my shoulder in June 2009. The I.M.E. was performed by a orthopedic surgeon in his 70's. He had brown leather patches on the elbows of his 'carpet-material-style' suit jacket. He left the room 2 times during 10 minutes. His report was totally bogus. He even put words into my mouth. Conversation's we never had.
It's a shit show. I'm still fighting them. I'm on my forth and final orthopedic surgeon who my family doctor found but I think he recently became infected by WCB Alberta because the last time I sat with him, he was looking at my injury differently. While we were sitting there, he had a 6 page document from WCB which paints a picture of my character that isn't my actual character, and you could tell he was totally convinced. Now, I have to fend off this fraudulent interpretation of who I am. That's how WCB works. They make up a false reality of someone and then that someone has to try and dismiss it in the eyes of lawyers, doctors, whomever ... and believe me, it's a lot easier said than done. Truly, it's close to impossible. I have yet to achieve it and it has been over a year ... 100's of pages of bullshit ... When I direct my time to this issue, I feel like I'm upside down half the time. Literally ... shaking head with an undefined grin ...

  • it can be frustrating, but that's their M.O. (at least here in NY, I assume it's similar everywhere)To frustrate you to the point where you give up and just go back to work, regardless of whether or not you can actually work or not. Here in NY they have decided to "catch up to the rest of the country" and limit monetary benefits to 5 years. So if you break your neck and are paralyzed at 22, you will get paid only until you are 27. And now they have come up with some "Guidelines" Bullshit to make it difficult to get physical therapy approved (the doctor has to fill out 6-8 pages explaining why you need to go and how it is helping every 6 weeks...(like doctors have so much free time for this) or even prescriptions
