I was thinking about the thread about John McCain and the third party rise to power, and I saw this last night:

There is quite a shake-up gpoing on..
Ross Perot got a good chunk of the votes in '92. How did that shakeup the election?
Apparently David Duke tried to run republican, but didnt do too well.

How will the next election results tally up with all these party shake-ups?
Pick up my debut novel here on amazon: Jonny Bails Floatin (in paperback) (also available on Kindle for $2.99)

perot actually set third party politics back if you can believe it. The problem before him is that people didn't take third parties and independents seriously, and then doing well, dropping out, getting back in, basically waffling while being in the race was terrible. I hate him for doing it. perhaps with him continuing on and maybe winning(although I am glad we got clinton) we wouldn't be talking about 3rd party politics but adding a 4th legitimate option. I just hate the fact that two parties have such a god damn stranglehold on the elections. It is perpetuated by the lesser of two evils mentality in politics and it sucks...There are more than two people every four years who are qualified to lead and the process we have in place ensures we basically are just voting for the same candidates year in and year out...not the same people but the exact same candidates who would do essentially the same things as president.

The american people are like clay...easily molded, but once they harden they are almost impossible to change.
