Below is the link to the story, but here is short summary.
School doesn't allow nose rings. Student is part of a small 2 year old church that thinks tattoos and piercings are the key to the divine. School suspends student. Student claims freedom of religion. Enter ACLU. and GOOD MORNING EVERYONE. This should make for some fun debate . . .

To me, this is nothing more than a club trying to disguise itself as a religion to mock other religions and and set up these ridiculous lawsuits. Waste of time. Nobody wants to follow rules anymore, they always want to have an exception for them. Drives me crazy.
Although this has given me an idea. If I could only start a small movement where I declared wearing only boxers, flip-flops and a brown fedora hat were the only way I could get closer to god. The hardest part would be drumming up a few thousand followers, but in today's world I imagine a Facebook account would be sufficient.
It's not that slippery a slope. 3,500 "followers"? How many does that Spaghetti Monster have?
It's pretty easy for anyone with common sense to look at it and realize this is bullshit. People are too afraid to do so though for some reason. We've taken common sense out of our daily lives and left it to the written word interpreted by lawyers.
I mean c'mon. 3,500 followers. They believe body art makes them feel happier basically. Big deal, take out the nose ring or find a school that will let you keep it.
and yet some people on here would give rastafarians credibility.
A wise man once said, "a religion of one is no less a religion." Therefore religious freedom is tantamount to anarchy.
Wash me in the blood of Rock & Roll
My own one-person church is based half on the principles found in that quote, while the other half is taken from a Simpson's episode. My religion doesn't preach much in the way of tolerance though, so everyone be careful what you say about it.

sorry... its early.
All religions are nothing more than clubs. Hey everyone, join us and we will tell you the secrets of the universe. Don't join, and we will spend our time trying to convert or subjugate you. And don't get me started on the "faithful" who protect people who rape children.
Yep you are right...they are all no more deep than nose rings. Please. I don't even practice any religion, but the complete and utter disrespect by some on here makes me sick. It's far easier to continually hate on everything.
