Death metal rock teacher sacked
Monday, May 10, 2010
A German high school teacher has been given the boot after the local education board discovered he moonlighted as a blood-smeared death metal rock singer.
Thomas Gurrath, a shaven-headed teacher from Stuttgart, was teaching philosophy to 14-year-olds during the day and by night is fond of covering himself in animal blood and performing with his band Debauchery.
Known as the Bloodbeast, his grungy looking band members wear black jeans and are also splattered with blood over their torsos.
Debauchery look like a pathetic cross between former boy band Take That and vampires from True Blood.
Their latest album Continue to Kill is their fifth and Debauchery's biggest "hits" include 'Kill Maim Burn' and 'Torture Pit'.
Shocked authorities claimed Gurrath's performances were a form of mental instability that made him unsafe to be around children, as reported on Ananova.com.
The school's principal and parents were also probably worried Gurrath would make his students sacrifice an animal and smear blood over themselves. So the 29-year-old was given an ultimatum — teaching or music. Gurrath said he was too addicted to death metal music and agreed to step down as a teacher

mind you i say this about anyone in any kind of band or music i hate...
Given, there's always a few wackos in the bunch, but generally, there doesn't seem to be any incongruence between scary black metaller onstage and allround nice guy off it.
So, that's a weak reason in itself imo, unless there's other stuff there that isn't related.
Peace
Dan
