Not really. He could turn into a nice starter but he regressed this past season and they have a lot of depth in pitching prospects. They had 2 or 3 make better showings last year and that’s without Reyes, who’s potential is as high as anybody’s.

Pretty lopsided deal.

I'm hoping Reyes does get good cause I have a bunch of his cards.

they’re gonna suck, for sure. I doubt you you make up a team of the “best” giants and padres and finish anything other than fourth.

Luis Valbuena and Jose Castillo killed in a car crash in their home of Venezuela last night. They were traveling after a game in a winter ball league and the car struck a rock and went off road.

I thought the same exact thing and I'm a lifelong white sox fan.  Was always a solid player but HOF???  Crazy.

Baines belongs in the hall of longevity, not fame. Decent 21 year career, but certainly nothing spectacular.

There’s a new worst player in the HoF. What are Baines’ credentials? Handful of Allstar nods?

Even the Smith election is a little gross. A 1/3 of the needed votes were formers teammates and managers.

I'm ok with Lee Smith.  3rd on the all-time saves list and even if you take away his AL years, he's still 3rd I believe all-time in the NL alone and 11th all-time in MLB.  Baines is definitely a head-scratcher.

Smith was at one time the All-time saves leader.  He held that title for a while until Trevor Hoffman broke his record and he is in now too.

I stated earlier that I thought Smith should be in.
