Has any positive test ever been overturned? I feel like it has never happened. If it isn't overturned the MVP should be given to Kemp to make a statement.PJ:

And just to add to what I said when I was drunk last night. I think he's guilty but I have always cared a whole lot less about steroids than most people do. I just don't see it as that big of a deal. I have read in a few places that this is a black eye for baseball and I don't really see it that way. Sure it sucks for them that one of the best players in the game got caught, but it shows the drug testing is working. I think it's more funny than anything, especially after his A-Rod comments.
That said, Bruan is in a bad spot and unless the World Doping Agency comes to a different result than MLB, Braun is fucked.0 -
I personally hope Braun comes out and becomes a crusader FOR steroids. They are good for you (many of us have used them to recover from surgery, allergies, etc.). We only hate them because Russians invented them and it was part of Cold War folklore. Secondly, what is considered ok and not ok for enhancing one's performance? Should all athletes be required to eat the same things, at the same rate, and exercise under strict regulations? I understand he broke the rules, and should be punished by those rules but the rules are stupid.0

I think it's more about protecting the integrity of the league than anything else.
I don't care if these guys want to inject themselves with poison. that should be their prerogative.0 -
I know what you are saying but the "integrity of the league" has been long since destroyed. Besides America's favorite sport is the NFL, and it's full of performance enhancing gentleman.0

destroyed and since repaired. MLB has done a phenomenal job with their image
MLB is now the most clean of any of the pro leagues (minor league testing program, stricter penalties than other leagues...the NFL is a joke with their penalties, HGH testing)
I could care less about popularity. America popularized shows like Lost and American Idol and I know they suck too.
I really don't understand how people like the NFL more than MLB. Our country as a whole is pretty stupid0 -

A very good source on the Ryan Braun side of the drug testing controversy assures me that Braun did not test positive for a performance-enhancing drug, as reported by ESPN's "Outside the Lines."
ESPN reported that Braun tested positive for a PED that gave him an abnormally high testosterone level, which proved to be synthetic and therefore not produced by the body.
But my source -- and again, this is from Braun's end and not MLB -- familiar with the test's findings says the "prohibited substance" was not a performance-enhancing drug or steroid of any kind. And the source says there has "never" been a result like this in the history of the MLB testing program.
The source said MLB "knows that Ryan is telling the truth" and firmly believes the postive test will be overturned. Pretty amazing stuff, huh?
The source said more detail couldn't be provided at this time because of the ongoing legal process. But suffice it to say that this is getting more interesting by the minute.
If the prohibited substance Braun tested positive for was a stimulant instead of a steroid, he wouldn't be facing a 50-game suspension. The first offense for stimulants results in a 25-game suspension.0 -

steroids are banned because of their adverse affects on health ... sure, in some instances - they can help a person recover but once that recovery has occurred - they don't continue to take those steroids ... sure, it's ok to think that if someone wants to put their health at risk ... it's their choice ... but it changes the playing field for those who do not wish to put their health at risk ... should we have a league that only caters to those who are willing to do that?0
