"bWAR" - okay, good to know
hey, I don’t really understand it either but it’s basically WAR with defensive “metrics” added in.

But, if 'bWAR" uses defensive "metrics", is that somewhat an opiniated Stat? How is that measured?
“defensive runs saved.” it’s all AI hocus pocus.
Just like I thought. (Opiniated stat)

    Jeff Kent, HOF.

I think it’s deserved but it doesn’t make the HOF any less of a joke.

When he said played 17 seasons for the Blue Jays and Mets. I thought it was Carlos Delgado and I changed the channel. So probably Carlos for a few seconds thought he was in

Dale Murphy gets a toe with Donnie?
Cmon.  Murphy was an elite power hitter in 80s.

Jeff Kent is the 2025 Harold Baines. Not a hall of famer in my opinion.

Mattingly should be in but not before Keith Hernandez.  Dale Murphy should be in.  Just my opinions.

222 career HR makes one an elite power hitter?

14 seasons (12 full). Played the final 7-8 seasons with a bad back. I think people forget that. Obviously if you weren't around and just look at the stats. You'd think he just forgot how to hit. Still had more hits than Dale. A better AVG and OPS. Robbed of his prime years. If you want to go by WAR they weren't that far off.

    Here we go again...

Mattingly was great for 4 years, real good for 2 and an elite fielder for most of his career.

Keith Hernandez has a similar career if not slightly better but he won't get in either.

I think Kent had a better career than Baines and him being a 2B gives him a bigger edge.

I agree with everything else u said.

comparing him to the universally panned Baines election is ridiculous. Kent didn’t win Gold Gloves, meaning he wasn’t elite, but he was fine. Completely serviceable; not a liability.

So would most people. That doesn’t mean Kent isn’t deserving.

  • I actually thought Kent should be in.

Why the fuck Mazeroski is in I will never know.  Unless it's because he slayed the Yankees.

    Just Kent? No one else?

Seems like if one guy is going into the HoF it's a broken process.

Here were your voters.  None of these guys are voting for Bond, Arod or Clemens.

Not sure why Sheffield is getting the shaft either?  He was mentioned but never tested positive for Steroids.

The Hall of Fame on Tuesday revealed the names of the members of the voting committee: Hall of Famers Fergie Jenkins, Jim Kaat, Juan Marichal, Tony Pérez, Ozzie Smith, Alan Trammell and Robin Yount; MLB executives Mark Attanasio, Doug Melvin, Arte Moreno, Kim Ng, Tony Reagins and Terry Ryan; and media members/historians Steve Hirdt, Tyler Kepner and Jayson Stark.

20 hr in a 162 game season average. Obviously his power numbers went down due to his back.
