hey, I don’t really understand it either but it’s basically WAR with defensive “metrics” added in.Johnny Abruzzo said:"bWAR" - okay, good to know
But, if 'bWAR" uses defensive "metrics", is that somewhat an opiniated Stat? How is that measured?0 -
Jeff Kent, HOF.
I think it’s deserved but it doesn’t make the HOF any less of a joke.If I had known then what I know now...

When he said played 17 seasons for the Blue Jays and Mets. I thought it was Carlos Delgado and I changed the channel. So probably Carlos for a few seconds thought he was inI miss igotid880

Dale Murphy gets a toe with Donnie?
Cmon. Murphy was an elite power hitter in 80s.
#teamdaleThe love he receives is the love that is saved0 -

Jeff Kent is the 2025 Harold Baines. Not a hall of famer in my opinion.
Mattingly should be in but not before Keith Hernandez. Dale Murphy should be in. Just my opinions.0 -
222 career HR makes one an elite power hitter?igotid88 said:

14 seasons (12 full). Played the final 7-8 seasons with a bad back. I think people forget that. Obviously if you weren't around and just look at the stats. You'd think he just forgot how to hit. Still had more hits than Dale. A better AVG and OPS. Robbed of his prime years. If you want to go by WAR they weren't that far off.Poncier said:

Mattingly was great for 4 years, real good for 2 and an elite fielder for most of his career.
Keith Hernandez has a similar career if not slightly better but he won't get in either.0 -
I think Kent had a better career than Baines and him being a 2B gives him a bigger edge.pjhawks said:Jeff Kent is the 2025 Harold Baines. Not a hall of famer in my opinion.

I agree with everything else u said.0 -
comparing him to the universally panned Baines election is ridiculous. Kent didn’t win Gold Gloves, meaning he wasn’t elite, but he was fine. Completely serviceable; not a liability.pjhawks said:Jeff Kent is the 2025 Harold Baines. Not a hall of famer in my opinion.

The statement you made was that Mattingly was also an "elite power hitter" after F Me said Murphy was an elite power hitter.igotid88 said:

So would most people. That doesn’t mean Kent isn’t deserving.tempo_n_groove said:

I actually thought Kent should be in.
Why the fuck Mazeroski is in I will never know. Unless it's because he slayed the Yankees.0 -
Just Kent? No one else?
Seems like if one guy is going into the HoF it's a broken process.

Not sure why Sheffield is getting the shaft either? He was mentioned but never tested positive for Steroids.

20 hr in a 162 game season average. Obviously his power numbers went down due to his back.Poncier said:
