    MLB is monitoring the situation and plans to gather facts, CBS Sports has learned. The league was not notified about the investigation before the news broke publicly. Ohtani could also potentially face legal issues, as a California gambling law expert explained to CBS Sports

    He would get a fine from MLB if he bet on sports or even Baseball.  He gets banned if he bet on his own team.

    They usually know English or know it well enough. But they still use the interpreter. Ichiro was a great example that didn't really need one.

    just about all european hockey and basketball players speak english….I believe it’s taught in their schools….is it not the same in japan?

    I was in San Diego for work, and I was able to see one of the last spring training games against the Mariners. Beautiful stadium 🏟, beautiful night, but a wee bit chilly.
