    I don’t have a problem with Smith either. He’s been borderline so long and kinda lucked into 4 automatic votes this year.

    baines never got more than 6.1% when hundreds of people voted. all of the sudden, one quarter of the voting panel was connected to him as a teammate, manager or executive....those guys lobby and vote....voila! what a joke.

    Yeah I don't get that either.  Cubs and White Sox have done quite a bit.  If the other team has a piece of a puzzle you think will fit, why not go after it?  Offer something that will benefit them back and hope the trade goes well both ways.  It only encourages future cooperation in trading.
